The selection of the Reserve Elemental Child.

It was held in the same place where the Academy Assembly took place.

On this day.

The Grand Hall was nearly full.

Most of the Academy's Second Ring Wizards, along with some First Ring Wizards of status, had come to attend.

Ian and nearly twenty Late Second Ring Wizards sat in the front rows.

"There are so many people."

Ian's gaze flickered as he looked at the Wizards on either side.

To his left sat his senior, Cerys, who gave him a slight nod.

Her eyes were still full of shock even now.

She had never imagined that Ian had already advanced to Late Second Ring and was taking part in this competition.

Ian then looked toward the other Wizards. Gabriel sat there calmly, while countless gazes fell upon him from behind.

That was because, over the past few years.

He had joined the Vein War.

He had also made considerable contributions. Combined with his background, he was one of the hottest candidates for Reserve Elemental Child this time.

Quentin beside him was much the same.

As though sensing his gaze, Gabriel turned to look over, his eyes carrying a hint of friendliness.

Further to the side.

Was Joshua.

When he sensed Ian's gaze, he gave a cold snort and turned toward the front.

He had never liked Ian much.

Then came a Wizard who even made Ian's mouth twitch.

"Renard."

Looking at that head of cyan hair and his strength, which stood at the Late Second Ring peak, Ian could not help drawing in a cold breath.

As the deputy commander of Storm Spear, his strength was beyond question.

It was precisely because of that position and his abilities that Ian had nearly forgotten that he, too, was an exceptionally talented Wizard.
