The next day.

"The Energy Potion's effects are really something!"

After sleeping for only four hours, Ian got out of bed still feeling brimming with energy.

Clearly, the vial of potion he had prepared was still working.

While the Energy Potion's effects remained, Ian took out the Memory Crystal.

"Faint Glimmer!"

Ian's Mental Power touched the Memory Crystal, and a vast amount of complex knowledge immediately drifted toward him like snowflakes.

"By using a Sorcery Model to temporarily construct an extremely intricate Energy Circuit within the eyes, forcibly raising the limits of visual perception... This principle is so exquisite it's astonishing!"

Ian's eyes lit up.

Of all the perception-type sorceries he had studied, this was undoubtedly the most ingenious.

"It needs to be used alongside a certain breakthrough potion before it can improve further."

Ian took out the accompanying liquid—a bottle of green fluid provided by Vivian.

"Enough for three months of use. It can let me train to the first level, then I can go ask her for more."

Ian finally understood what Victor had said back then.

As long as you showed your value, the support you received would absolutely be substantial.

He opened the bottle and used his Mental Power to control the liquid, making it slowly float onto his eyelids and spread evenly across them.

In an instant, Ian felt a cool sensation wash over him.

Ian then began trying to condense and construct the Sorcery Model.

Half an hour later, Ian opened his eyes.

"Establishing the Energy Circuit is very difficult, but as long as I succeed once, I can improve."

Ian took a deep breath.

The materials actually only served as a stimulus. What truly mattered was the Sorcery Model and one's understanding of the Energy Circuit.

With the panel, it wasn't much of a problem.

So, he took out another sorcery.

Guidance Technique.

Unlike Faint Glimmer, which acted on the eyes, this was a sorcery that acted on the hands.

Its principle was to construct a stable Mental Power field, allowing it to be used when processing materials and preparing potions.

Once mastered, it would indeed be of immense help in potion preparation.

The difficulty, however, was still very high.

Reaching the beginner level would take some time.

In the blink of an eye, three days passed.

"Faint Glimmer!"

Inside the room, Ian's eyes suddenly emitted a faint glow, as though some complex structure lay within them.

And the world before him changed completely.

Objects several meters away became clear and distinct, while nearby objects revealed even finer details.

He took out a magical plant.

Upon closer inspection, his gaze seemed to penetrate the magical plant, revealing strands of Energy Circuits flowing across it.

"But it still isn't clear enough."

Ian slowly opened his eyes, somewhat stunned.

Even on his first use, he could already feel the tremendous role this sorcery could play in preparation.

Especially when processing materials and observing changes in energy during preparation.

And that was not all.

"If I use it in battle, I could even observe the enemy's energy fluctuations, discover their weaknesses, and evade in advance!"

Ian's eyes lit up.

Of course, that would probably require an extremely high level of proficiency.

But that was no problem.

Ian looked at the panel. Faint Glimmer had already appeared.

[Skill: Faint Glimmer (Beginner 1/100)]

"I just wonder how quickly this wizardry can improve?"

Ian shook his head. That would have to be tested later.

And after that, he would have to get started on the Guidance Technique as well.

With the aid of the Energy Potion's effects, he had spent the past three days practicing almost without sleep or rest.

Only then had he managed to get started.

That showed just how difficult this wizardry was.

The Guidance Technique would probably have to wait for some time.

"And I need to start brewing potions too."

Ian took a deep breath. Three days had passed; it was time to report to the department.

More than ten minutes later.

Ian arrived at the department.

"Farn, from today onward, you'll follow Ian and serve as his assistant!"

In the office, Vivian pointed at a young man standing nearby.

"An assistant? Wouldn't that violate the School's rules?"

Ian was stunned.

Had he misheard?

Within the School, only Second-class Wizards had the right to be assigned Servant Witches, didn't they? At the very least, he had never seen a Junior Potion Master with a dedicated assistant.

Vivian shook her head and said calmly, "It's only one assistant, so don't worry. He's one of my people—I'm lending him to you. You can rest easy using one of our own."

"Of course, if you prove outstanding enough, it wouldn't be impossible to let you keep him permanently. Oh, right—you should be out of Magic Stones by now, shouldn't you? Go draw three months' worth in advance. I've already filed the request!"

"Thank you, Deputy Head!"

Ian thanked her.

He had not felt much over the previous three months, but ever since advancing to Junior Potion Master

He had finally understood what it meant to be the deputy head of the Potions Department.

"Farn, there should still be an empty laboratory on the first floor. Take Ian there," Vivian instructed.

Farn was a short-haired Servant Witch, but at that moment, his heart was filled with resentment!

Not all Servant Witches were the same.

The servant of the deputy head of the Potions Department was naturally different from the servant of a Junior Potion Master.

But Vivian's order was not something he could defy. He could only lower his head and mutter a sullen, "All right."

Following Farn, Ian made his way to a room tucked away in a corner of the first floor.

The room was forty or fifty square meters in size, and completely empty.

Ian, who had expected a fully equipped laboratory, was immediately somewhat disappointed.

"I was asking for too much. Even if she thinks highly of me, she can't possibly take care of every little detail for me. What would that make me?"

Ian shook his head.

His mindset settled accordingly.

Vivian thought highly of him because of his talent, but he had no doubt that the moment he no longer displayed that kind of potential, Vivian would abandon him without hesitation.

He absolutely could not grow complacent because of this!

After telling Farn to clean the room, Ian first went to draw his three months' advance of Magic Stones—a total of thirty Magic Stones.

With Magic Stones in hand, Ian felt as though even his back had straightened a little as he walked.

"Next, renew the rental on the Experimental Equipment for a few months, then buy a Basic Potion Recipe."

Ian took a deep breath.

He first went to the Potions Department Library and purchased a Basic Potion Recipe.

Then he headed to the supplies office, intending to renew the rental on the Experimental Equipment.

"Renewal? Name?"

The wizard at the supplies office asked coldly.

"Ian!"

"Ian?" At the sound of the name, the Wizard froze for a moment before a smile slowly spread across his face.

"Alright, alright, please have a seat and wait a moment."

The Wizard replied warmly as he pulled out a record book from somewhere out of sight.

He flipped through it quickly, soon found the entry, then looked up and said:

"Wizard Ian, your set of equipment is a little old. How about I replace it with a new one?"

Old?

Ian recalled his equipment. It really was rather battered. Before, he had figured that since it was rented, there definitely wouldn't be anything good.

"It can be replaced? And I didn't bring it with me today."

"What are you saying? Minister Vivian thinks very highly of you. Just bring it over in a few days!"

The Wizard's face was piled high with smiles as he quickly fetched a brand-new set of Experimental Equipment from the storeroom.

Looking at the still-sealed equipment, Ian's mouth twitched.

That damned Potions Department.

So fucking realistic.

But he liked it.
