"200!"
Watching the numbers change, Ian felt a surge of delight.
Though it still had not reached the standard for Second-class Talent, it was already twice what it had been when Ian first entered the School.
After meditating once, he immediately felt the change.
"The number and efficiency of my meditations have improved further. My meditation time can probably reach nine hours, and a new rune might take only a month."
Ian's gaze sharpened!
This was undoubtedly enormous progress. It meant that the growth rate of his talent had once again caught up with the declining efficiency of condensing Mental Power runes.
"If this rate of growth continues, advancing to second-class within a year might not be impossible."
Ian's eyes lit up.
"But would that still be too conspicuous?"
Ian shook his head.
As the advanced learning stage had passed, many people already knew about his situation.
What he had displayed was only Third-grade Talent.
Advancing to second-class within a year would inevitably draw attention.
Ross was the precedent.
And once the Cultivation Sequence was involved, there would only be more eyes watching and wider entanglements.
"So I need to enter the Cultivation Sequence as an Intermediate Potion Master, then quietly raise my talent and increase my Mental Power."
Ian swiftly sorted out his thoughts.
The former would ensure the rise of his status, while the latter would let him face future dangers with composure.
"Besides, there's Hal!"
Ian pressed his lips together.
He felt that old bastard must hate him to the bone.
Perhaps one day, he might make a move against him.
So Ian had to strike first, and the minimum requirement for that was becoming a Second-class Apprentice Witch.
With his goal set, Ian's heart settled as well.
In the blink of an eye, a day passed.
Inside the room, Ian practiced the Guidance Technique.
Suddenly, a faint layer of ripples spread across his slender right hand, like ripples on water!
A flame burned on the experimental table before him.
Ian brought his right hand close to the flame.
The ripples touched the fire, and the flame immediately transformed into all manner of shapes. He could even adjust its size.
"The Guidance Technique is finally at the beginner level."
Seeing this, Ian smiled.
Half a month after gaining an entry-level grasp of the Glimmering Eye, he had finally mastered his second potion-making inheritance.
It had also taken him the longest to gain an entry-level grasp of among all the Wizardry he had studied.
Worthy of Wizardry that cost a hundred.
"And it really is difficult to improve."
Ian opened the panel.
[Skill: Faint Glimmer (Beginner 50/100)]
In half a month, he had only increased the skill's proficiency, averaging merely two to three points a day.
Judging by its rate of improvement, it was the slowest Wizardry he had learned so far!
"But my progress doesn't seem that slow."
Ian's expression immediately turned strange.
He looked toward the shelf to one side, where the supplementary liquid materials for the two types of Wizardry were placed.
The green one was for the Glimmering Eye, while the blue one belonged to the Guidance Technique.
The latter had only used up one layer, but the former was already half gone.
But what Vivian had given him in the beginning was enough to last three months.
Given her personality, it was definitely enough.
In other words, Vivian had expected these potions to be sufficient for him to advance Faint Glimmer to its first stage within three months.
And he had the panel.
He should be able to raise it to Proficient in just one month.
That would be two months ahead of schedule.
"Better wait a while before showing it."
Ian made his plans.
Three months was too long to wait. He could go find her after a month and a half.
There was no need to be overly exaggerated!
He could also use the extra time to practice other Wizardry without delaying anything.
Another day passed.
Ian bought another basic potion formula, the Minor Healing Potion.
Life returned to calm once more.
The days passed one by one.
His proficiency in both Wizardry and potion-making continued to rise.
Half a month later.
Ian carefully smeared the last layer of pale green liquid from the bottle over his eyelids. The familiar cool sensation slowly seeped in.
Half an hour later, the world before his eyes transformed once more.
Faint Glimmer had broken through.
[Skill: Faint Glimmer (Proficient 1/200)]
The already clear world changed again.
Specks of elemental particles gradually emerged before his eyes.
"After reaching Proficient, I can observe the existence of elements."
Ian was utterly delighted.
Before this, even he had needed to enter a meditative state to see them.
But now, all he needed to do was activate Faint Glimmer.
He looked around.
He could see the influx of elements around the apartment, like fine threads.
There seemed to be more than a dozen next door.
About the same as when he cultivated; that person was probably also a First-class Wizard Apprentice.
The other houses were much the same.
Walking to the window, Ian looked into the distance. Above Maple Leaf Street, countless threads of elemental energy drifted down.
They were blurry, but there were clearly far more of them than on Emerald Street, where Ian lived.
"As expected of an area where Second-class Wizards live."
Ian sighed, then looked toward the center of the School and saw an even more shocking sight.
At the center of the School, a black Wizard Tower stood like a giant.
Thousands upon thousands of elemental threads streamed into the Wizard Tower from the sky.
The great distance made it look like an enormous canopy stretching across the heavens, a spectacular sight.
"Wizard Horton's Wizard Tower!"
Ian's heart trembled!
He vaguely felt that even if all the visible elements from every other part of the School were added together, they still might not match the density there.
"So that is... an Official Wizard?"
Ian's throat moved.
He had known Official Wizards were powerful, but he had never imagined the gap would be this vast.
In terms of elemental intake and output alone, they were on an entirely different level from Wizard Apprentices.
The true gap in strength was likely even more terrifying.
Ian watched for a long while before reluctantly closing Faint Glimmer and calming his emotions.
But that scene had already been deeply branded into his heart.
"One day, I too will become an Official Wizard!"
Ian's gaze was resolute.
Perhaps the panel alone might not be enough, but he still had the talent system. He believed that day was only a matter of time.
"So I need to raise my talent. The Minor Healing Potion should be able to reach Master Level today as well."
Ian rose to his feet, deciding to visit the Potions Department today.
More than ten minutes later.
He arrived at his laboratory.
Inside the door, Farn was already waiting.
"Lord Ian, I've prepared all the materials you need to process today. Would you like something to drink?" Farn stepped forward in small strides and asked eagerly.
"No need. Let's begin brewing."
Shaking his head.
Ian went straight to the experiment table, where the materials for twenty portions of Minor Healing Potion had already been laid out.
A faint glimmer surfaced in his eyes.
The elements flowing within... the areas that had once been damaged... the parts where magical power was insufficient...
At this moment, the materials before Ian held no secrets.
Removing the substandard portions, Ian began brewing at once.
His Expert-level skill made the process incredibly smooth, while the Glimmering Eye allowed him to observe every change during the brewing process and make adjustments.
In barely more than ten minutes.
A Calming Potion was complete.
Farn watched from the side.
Though he had seen this many times already, he was still utterly stunned.
Another new potion, and only half a month had passed, yet his proficiency had already reached a terrifying eighty or ninety percent!
Such a horrifying rate of progress.
He had never heard of it.
"I must follow in my lord's footsteps closely."
Farn's gaze gradually grew firm.
Under Vivian, he had merely been one of many servants. But at Ian's side, he was his only servant.
There was a fundamental difference between the two.
"This may be the only opportunity I'll ever have in this life."
Farn's fingers curled slightly, as though he wanted to seize something.
"Twenty portions. Two failures."
Six hours later, Ian looked at the eighteen bottles of potion before him and took a deep breath.
Faint Glimmer allowed him to handle the materials better and respond to the brewing process, but it was difficult to intervene directly.
If the Guidance Technique had entered the beginner level as well, perhaps he would not have failed a single portion!
This was the terror of a potions knowledge inheritance.
It was practically equivalent to increasing a wizard's success rate in brewing potions out of thin air. No wonder it was so exorbitantly expensive!
Still, though two portions had failed, his goal had been achieved.
He summoned the panel!
"Minor Healing Potion has broken through to Master Level. Talent +5." "Talent: 200→205."
