Heaven Dou Empire, Ling Yun Pass.
Ling Yun Pass was the second-largest pass of the Heaven Dou Empire. Beyond the Seals Duchy to the south stretched the endless northern plains, where there were few places suitable for holding out by relying on natural defenses. Ling Yun Pass was one of them.
In the central region of the boundless plains, magnificent mountain ranges rose abruptly from the ground, stretching across the northern plains. Their continuous peaks stood like bamboo shoots, with steep cliffs and towering, perilous precipices.
If one wished to avoid those jagged peaks and sheer cliff faces, there were only two options. One was to detour hundreds or even thousands of kilometers around either side; the other was to pass through Ling Yun Pass at the center of the mountain range.
At the center of the mountain range that cut across the plains was a natural passage running north to south. Compared to the dangerous peaks on either side, the route was relatively flat. The Heaven Dou Empire had built a fortress here: Ling Yun Pass.
Grandmaster stood atop the walls of Ling Yun Pass, gazing into the distance. His brows remained tightly furrowed, and complicated emotions stirred in his eyes. No one knew what he was thinking.
Two kilometers before Ling Yun Pass, white tents stretched across the relatively level ground between the mountains on both sides, complementing the green forest. White and green interwove, making it impossible to tell whether the forest enveloped the tents or the tents enveloped the forest.
At the passageway, over three hundred meters wide, dense ranks of soldiers drilled without pause. Warhorses thundered about, and the sounds of training carried continuously through the air.
Beside him stood the generals of the Heaven Dou Empire's military and the commanders of the Soul Master
