Liu Xiaoxiao and his group arrived before the Sky-Piercing Tower at the heart of the city, silent.
"Were we discovered? What do we do?" a young man beside the Bishop of Wrath asked.
"What else can we do? We force our way in," the Bishop of Wrath said calmly.
"Within this Floating Pyramid, you cannot possibly be my opponents." At that moment, another voice drifted over. "The fifth-floor underground city and sixth-floor surface city of the Floating Pyramid are essentially one entity. It is itself a living being. The underground city is the mother nest that breeds life, the pinnacle of life alchemy; the surface city is a research institute for material transformation, the pinnacle of inorganic alchemy. This is a plane within a plane. I am the master of this plane, far beyond anything you can compare to."
As he spoke, the doors of the Sky-Piercing Tower slowly opened.
Everyone's hearts tightened at his words, but none of them intended to retreat. They proceeded straight into the base of the Sky-Piercing Tower.
Following the spiraling stairs, the group soon reached the middle of the Sky-Piercing Tower and entered one of its rooms.
The Alchemist Lemei wore an old-fashioned robe and held a redwood staff. The top of the staff curved into a semicircle, at whose center rested an azure octahedral gemstone that radiated dense Water Attribute fluctuations.
With his free hand, he pointed toward the seats beside him, signaling for them to sit. The group did not stand on ceremony and took their seats one after another, all the while watching Lemei warily.
"You've finally arrived. When Teacher told me you'd been teleported to the first floor, I was rather worried," Lemei said with a chuckle.
