The System Arrives

In February, the harsh winter had passed, and the earth was bursting with spring. All of Konoha was thriving.

Inside a Japanese-style wooden house, a listless child of five or six stared at the scroll in his hands.

A closer look revealed that although the child was still young, his features were neat and delicate. His childish face showed that he would grow up to be a handsome man second only to the reader.

Hoshiryu Uchiha stood up, set down the scroll, yawned, and stretched.

Bored out of his mind, he slowly walked to the window. Looking at Hokage Rock in the distance, he sighed and muttered to himself:

"I do like Naruto, but you can't just send me here to experience it firsthand!"

That was right. Hoshiryu Uchiha was not originally from the Naruto World. He came from twenty-first-century China.

Having just graduated from university, he had become one of the blessed workers of the 996 schedule.

Whenever work tired him out, he watched Naruto to relax. To him, Naruto had been a companion that grew up alongside him. Though he had watched it many times, he still loved it.

Then, during one overtime shift, a sharp pain suddenly tore through his heart, and in the next instant, he lost consciousness.

When he opened his eyes again, he had arrived in the Naruto World and become a child of five or six.

Fortunately, after transmigrating, he had merged with this body's memories, allowing him to understand his current circumstances.

The Uchiha Clan name needed no explanation. It definitely meant he had transmigrated to Konoha.

That was good news for him.

Because he had transmigrated to Konoha, he knew more about it than anywhere else.

Although, judging from his memories, the plot had not begun yet.

He understood the personalities of all sorts of characters, which meant he could befriend people who would shine brilliantly in the future. At the very least, he could make himself familiar to them.

But the end of the war also meant Tobirama Senju's death and Hiruzen Sarutobi's rise as the Third Hokage.

This Hokage and his higher-ups were not friendly toward the Uchiha Clan. To make matters worse, this body's parents had died in the final stages of the war.

After learning the news, the original owner had been so overwhelmed by grief that he died, benefiting the transmigrated Hoshiryu instead.

After figuring out his identity, location, and the current year, Hoshiryu Uchiha handled the original owner's parents' funeral arrangements. It was a way of repaying him for taking over his body.

After settling all that, for the sake of his future safety and food.

Hoshiryu Uchiha began sorting through the house, collecting ninjutsu scrolls and money.

Although Konoha regularly distributed survivor benefits, enough to cover his daily expenses.

Ninja training also required supporting tools and medicinal ingredients, all of which cost money.

The future Ninja World would not be peaceful. Leaving aside something like the Clan Annihilation Night decades later, the Second Shinobi World War and Third Shinobi World War were only about ten years away.

If he did not want to become cannon fodder on the battlefield and wanted to survive, he needed to constantly grow stronger.

That brought him back to the original problem: growing stronger required training, and training required money.

So, the first thing he did was sort through the house, hoping the original owner's Chunin parents had left behind enough resources.

After searching for several days, he found several million ryō, enough to support his training for years.

But he only found three ninjutsu scrolls, and all three were Fire Style. One of them was even the kind-hearted ninjutsu that could not kill anyone, the Great Fireball Technique.

The dangers of the Naruto World were self-evident. Although he had enough money for now, he had gained very few ninjutsu. His naturally lazy personality immediately gained the upper hand.

Standing by the window, Hoshiryu Uchiha looked at Hokage Rock in the distance and the bustling village.

The Third Hokage's statue has already been completed. I wonder if I'll become the butterfly that flaps its wings and change the plot.

Just as Hoshiryu Uchiha wondered what his future would hold, an icy mechanical voice suddenly entered his mind.

Ding. Detected that the host has survived for three days. Binding system... 10%... 30%... 70%... 100%

Binding successful. Data generation successful. Would you like to view it?

The sudden voice made Hoshiryu Uchiha freeze for a moment before a delighted expression appeared on his face.

Transmigrators and systems really are a standard package. Isn't the system here now?

With that thought, Hoshiryu Uchiha eagerly began studying the system's functions.

Recalling the system's earlier prompt, he opened his data panel with a thought.

Host: Hoshiryu Uchiha

Skills: One-Tomoe Sharingan (Green), Uchiha Physique (Green), Cooking (White)

AFK Slots: Empty, Empty

Combat Power: 3 (A scrub whose combat power hasn't even reached 5!)

The system's savage mockery left him somewhat speechless, but the One-Tomoe Sharingan skill surprised him.

But he soon realized that this was probably what the original owner had unconsciously awakened after learning of his parents' deaths.

The original owner had awakened the Sharingan in his grief. Already consumed by sorrow, he failed to catch his breath and died as a result.

Still, that worked out well for him. After understanding this, he continued examining the system's functions.

Before long, he understood what the system could do.

The system's full name was the AFK System, and its main function was quite simple.

Place the skills that needed to AFK into the AFK Slots provided by the system, and the skills would automatically level up as time passed.

Under the system's rules, skills were divided into White, Green, Blue, Purple, Orange, Gold, and Rainbow grades, with ten levels in each grade.

After reaching level ten, filling another level would cause the skill to break through its current grade.

There were no restrictions on skill breakthroughs. Even a skill like Cooking could be AFKed to the Rainbow grade as long as there was enough time.

The system currently provided only two AFK Slots. The number of AFK Slots would increase as the host's abilities improved, while AFK speed was directly proportional to the host's combat power.

In short, the stronger the host, the faster the AFK rate.

But one point required attention: the system did not provide automatic learning. The host had to learn or create every skill himself.

After understanding the system's functions, Hoshiryu Uchiha did not hesitate. He immediately placed the Sharingan and Uchiha Physique into the AFK Slots.

The system did not disappoint him. Not long after placing the skills into the AFK Slots, he felt every part of his body become pleasantly warm, while a cool sensation continuously flowed through his eyes.

This led him to guess that not only did the system's AFK function have none of the side effects of training, such as soreness, it was also incredibly comfortable.
