In the darkness, Nimrod wanted to open his eyes, but his eyelids were heavy, as if they had been glued shut.
He vaguely sensed his curled-up body slowly rotating within the murky amniotic fluid, drifting back into a deep, lethargic slumber.
Before long, his perception suddenly sharpened; beyond the amniotic fluid lay glass partitions, which were part of an unpainted, silver-grey iron device.
The smooth surface of the apparatus featured numerous mechanical slots and ports, with the Roman numeral XI clearly engraved in silver on the front, and a line of smaller, exquisitely scripted text etched into the metal plate below.
This was the first time Nimrod had "seen" this script; it was unlike any language he had ever known, appearing to be a long, complex prayer intended to beseech blessings and support from external powers.
Just as he attempted to decipher it, a voice of surprise echoed in his ears.
"My Lord, the sensory perception of the Eleventh Primarch is remarkably keen, much like that of the Fifteenth."
A voice as majestic as thunder resonated.
"No, Malcador."
"I bestowed the Fifteenth Primarch with powerful psychic talents, but to the Eleventh, I have granted keen perception and a formidable consciousness."
"He shall possess extraordinary insight; he will be able to acutely capture the weaknesses of his enemies and deliver precise, lethal strikes. He shall be the Reaper of the battlefield, harvesting lives."
[The Eleventh Primarch?]
[Malcador?]
Nimrod felt as if struck by lightning, his blurred consciousness instantly snapping into clarity.
An old man, frail as a flickering candle and holding a scepter, stood there; he radiated a blinding light, yet compared to the sun beside him, he was but a mere star.
The moment his consciousness touched the sun, he felt a stinging pain, as if being scorched.
"Sleep! You are still too fragile; it is not yet time for you to serve Me!"
The sun's voice seemed to possess a magical quality; Nimrod immediately lost all sense of the outside world, as if the entire universe had shrunk down to nothing but his gestation pod.
His body also immediately began to rotate slowly, turning away from the two figures, his mind thinking sluggishly.
[I... have transmigrated... They are... The Emperor... and Malcador... I have become... the Eleventh... Primarch...]
Nimrod felt his thoughts sink into a strange state; by the time this sentence had fully formed in his mind, he had no idea how much time had passed.
His perception was suddenly liberated—or more accurately, the shackles upon it had vanished.
He sensed the existence of the platform, the vibrating metal pillar engines, and the other gestation pods.
He also sensed another conscious mind—Magnus?
Nimrod sensed that The Emperor and Malcador had already departed, and he also felt the surrounding gestation pods and the powerful lifeforms gestating within them.
He further perceived the scientists working at their respective stations beneath the platform, the backs of their protective suits all marked with the numeral "I".
Their gloves were stained with blood as they used silver scalpels to slice through pale organs.
At this point, Nimrod confirmed that he had transmigrated into the Warhammer universe, becoming one of the gene-primarchs created by The Emperor to conquer the galaxy for the "Great Crusade".
[Why let me transmigrate into this cesspit of a Warhammer universe, and as the Eleventh Primarch who is destined to be erased, no less?
Even if I am cautious and prudent, can I truly avoid my future fate?]
Just as he thought this, he suddenly felt his "body" float upward, enveloped by black mist.
[How can there be mist inside a gestation pod? Are The Four Ruinous Powers making their move already?]
Immediately, Nimrod discovered his consciousness had arrived in a world of black mist; the mist was boundless and infinite, and he could sense no edges.
Only within a hundred-meter radius centered on him was the mist absent, allowing him to see clearly.
[The Four Ruinous Powers are supposed to whisk away all the Primarchs and scatter them to various worlds in the galaxy; they shouldn't just be pulling my consciousness alone.]
During the process of creating the Primarchs, The Emperor had struck a bargain with the four Chaos Gods, agreeing that half of the Primarchs would belong to the Warp deities.
His heart held only for humanity, unbound by morality, so he naturally intended to renege on the agreement; however, the four Chaos Gods would not allow him to break his word, so they created a Warp storm in the laboratory, scattering the twenty gene-primarchs to different worlds across the galaxy.
Just as Nimrod was puzzled, a massive stream of information was suddenly poured into his mind.
Had it been before, his brain would surely have been blown apart, but now his superhuman mind was processing the information at lightning speed.
[I am currently within the "Kingdom of Disorder"; the Sefirah, in order to evolve, chose me and brought me to the Warhammer universe.]
Nimrod suddenly remembered that before he transmigrated, as a fan of Lord of the Mysteries, he had participated in the crowdfunding for the Blasphemy Slate.
After excitedly opening the package, he discovered a mysterious prize, and subsequently, he was surrounded by black mist and lost consciousness.
At the same time, Magnus's consciousness stirred, spreading out in confusion; when it swept over the Eleventh Primarch's gestation pod, it found no abnormalities. After lingering for a moment and sensing that he seemed to be asleep, he withdrew his consciousness.
Nimrod looked ahead to see a massive slate; he sensed with precision that the slate was twenty-two meters wide and ten meters high.
With a thought, he arrived before the grey slate.
The "Kingdom of Disorder" had just instilled in him a vast amount of knowledge regarding the Beyonder realms; he knew that the slate recorded the potion formulas for the 22 pathways.
A pathway was a sequence chain that ascended step by step, growing steadily in power.
If a mortal wished to obtain extraordinary power, they had to consume a Sequence 9 potion to become a Beyonder.
The lower the sequence number, the higher the quality of the potion; the path from Sequence 9 to Sequence 0 was also a path to godhood.
As the one bearing the identity and destiny of the master of the Kingdom of Disorder, he must walk the path of the Black Emperor. Therefore, the Blasphemy Slate currently only contains the potion formula for Sequence 9, Lawyer; subsequent sequences and formulas for other paths must be gradually unlocked.
Sequence 9, Lawyer, potion formula:
Main ingredients: 1100 millimeters of Wire Grass, 1 Chem-Dog tongue.
Auxiliary ingredients: 1100 milliliters of Helas Volt, 1 Spine Crystal, 1 Hive Giant Rat.
Extraordinary abilities: ...
From the extraordinary knowledge, Nimrod knew that the potion materials on the Blasphemy Slate were different from those in his memories; they were materials from the Warhammer world that possessed the same extraordinary characteristics.
Fortunately, each material was accompanied by an image, so he would not mistake them.
He also noticed that among the potion materials, the Hive Giant Rat and the Spine Crystal were glowing faintly, while the other three remained dim and lusterless.
Helas Volt?
Seeing the liquid that resembled black vodka, he immediately recalled that it was a local specialty of the industrial world, Vostonia.
The Chem-Dog was also unrelated to the Savlar Chem-Dogs; it was a canine species brought by the first settlers of Vostonia.
The place I am currently in is the Emperor's laboratory on Terra. Both the Hive Giant Rat and the Spine Crystal are present in the hive city, which is why they glow on the Blasphemy Slate.
The other three potion materials are missing, so they remain dim. This is actually quite convenient; at least it lets me know whether the potion materials exist in the world I am currently in.
If I want to become a Lawyer, I must make a trip to Vostonia.
Thinking that the Emperor might return to the laboratory at any moment, Nimrod decided to return to his original body.
His "body" rapidly grew heavy, the black mist vanished, and he returned to the gestation pod.
Nimrod felt a wave of exhaustion and immediately drifted into a deep sleep.
After Magnus sensed the anomaly, the consciousness that had spread over found nothing and retreated in confusion.
In the following days, he drifted between sleep and wakefulness, pondering his plan to use his golden finger to change his fate.
The Primarchs are useful tools for the Emperor. He ordered the erasure of the Primarchs of the Second and Eleventh Legions, so they must have committed sins he could not tolerate—either falling to Chaos or colluding with xenos.
Possessing keen senses, I might have been cast into some special world, contaminated by local culture during my growth, and unable to be purged.
If I want to change the fate of being erased, I must start from the gestation pod!
On the 11th day of his transmigration, he suddenly woke from his slumber. He felt the Geller Field protecting the laboratory suddenly fail, and the energy barrier between the real world and the Warp was torn asunder.
The source of the Warhammer extraordinary characteristics—that is, why these materials can be mixed to concoct potions and gain extraordinary abilities—will only be discovered when Nimrod advances to a high sequence, as it involves the rules of this universe. Some of this will be revealed in Chapter 47.
The scattering of the Primarchs follows the official novel Head of Heresy as the first step of the Chaos Gods' plan; the scenes of the gestation pods and the events after they were ejected are also taken from the scene witnessed by Argel Tal. The translation of the gestation pods naturally adopts the terminology used in the book.
Regarding the conflict with Erda from the Siege of Terra series, I personally believe she did not have the ability to breach the defenses of the Emperor's laboratory and cast the Primarchs into the Warp.
Legion members will be continuously updated in the relevant section of the work; those who have forgotten can check it themselves.
