Aoko took out her spellbook (+ scroll case) right in front of Kenneth, then used a Dimension Door to vanish from before his eyes with Touko, leaving the Department of Mineralogy building as well.

"Sp-spatial transfer?"

Kenneth's imagination immediately ran wild, and he instantly began overthinking everything. From the most profound theories of magecraft to all sorts of rumors concerning the effects of the Fifth Magic, he considered every possible means by which the Aozaki sisters could have left. Yet he realized that no matter which method it was, it was beyond the capabilities of a magus at his level—something he had no way to counterbalance.

Kenneth sighed, calmed his turbulent emotions, and turned to leave the empty corridor.

Aoko and Touko landed on a patch of grass near the Department of Creation building.

The weather was somewhat gloomy today, and plenty of dew still clung to the grass beneath their feet, dampening their shoes.

Aoko and Touko deftly bypassed the Department of Creation's detection barrier and made their way from the lawn in the back courtyard to the building's main entrance.

Since some mud had gotten on their shoes, Aoko waved a hand, and a Prestidigitation spell cleaned the dust and dirt from both of them.

Generally speaking, in the world of magecraft, when going to cause trouble for the powerful head of a noble family, it was not advisable to walk through the front door.
