The day the Brass Council trial ended

Late at night, inside a villa in Upper City

"Tiandao, are you sure you want to do this?"

Chen Xing looked at Tiandao, who was still staring at the board and racking his brains, and asked curiously.

Hearing this, Tiandao, wholly focused on the game, answered absentmindedly, "I've already done it. What's there to be sure or unsure about?"

As soon as he spoke, Tiandao's eyes fixed on the board suddenly lit up.

"That's it!"

He picked up one of his Black Pieces and, with an exceptionally dashing motion, slammed it down in the center of the board, forming a distinctive row of five.

"Xing, you lost!"

Tiandao looked up at Chen Xing, his azure eyes brimming with smugness.

Yet Chen Xing's expression instantly froze at Tiandao's shameless declaration of victory. She had thought they were playing Go all along.

She stared at Tiandao's mischievous grin. Her fierce desire to win immediately drove her to make a decision based on her "intuition."

"I lost?"

Chen Xing softly repeated the words, her slender fingertips seemingly carelessly brushing over the edge of the board.

The next second, several tiny crimson flames abruptly enveloped Tiandao's black pieces.

Before his stunned eyes, they left behind a patch of charred ash on the board.

"Tiandao, where are your pieces?"

Tiandao clutched his chest as though wounded and leaned back.

"Hey, hey, who plays Gomoku by burning all their opponent's pieces with fire? You're cheating!"

Faced with Tiandao's accusation, Chen Xing imitated the shameless way he had acted as a child and replied with complete confidence, "But I clearly remember someone saying we were playing Go at the beginning, not Gomoku."

Seeing that the grown-up Chen Xing had even learned his thick-skinned ways, Tiandao
