Real World, Station 13.
The final episode of "Stellaris Prequel: Embers."
'First!'
'Throw confetti!'
'Open up, water meter inspection!'
Amid the Dimensional Audience's enthusiastic flood of comments, this phenomenon-level animation finally reached the Season 1 finale.
And just as they had expected, the production team not only paid off some of the earlier foreshadowing in this final episode.
They also planted countless Season 2 "hooks" that left people itching for more.
Five minutes before Ember Base self-destructed.
Gorn walked expressionlessly through the Ember underground base, which was strewn with devastation.
At last, he arrived before one of Ember Base's armories.
When he pushed open the armory's warped, heavy blast door,
he saw William, his chest pierced by steel rebar, his entire body buried beneath the rubble, with only one arm left exposed.
Gorn looked at him, pinned beneath the ruins.
A visibly complicated emotion flashed through his eyes. Then he stepped forward and carefully removed the Pink Children's Watch from William's wrist.
"You really were foolish, William. You actually threw away your life for a group of enemies."
"But I keep my word. Since I said I'd help you bring your 'heart' back, then I... won't break my promise."
With that, Gorn took the pink children's toy watch and headed outside Ember Base.
Then, the camera suddenly focused on the "pink toy watch" in Gorn's hand.
Its cracked watch face, its stopped hands, the strawberry sticker at its edge stained with blood.
It was clearly nothing more than a crude children's toy watch.
Yet it seemed to be hinting at something.
Just as Gorn's figure completely vanished into the darkness,
a crisp tick suddenly echoed through the passage.
That... was the sound of the hands moving.
The moment they heard it, the comments exploded.
'Holy crap! Foreshadowing—this is definitely foreshadowing!'
