There was no up, down, left, or right in the void. He could only fly by instinct, stopping every so often to check his bearings lest he go astray. Sometimes, after flying for half a day, he discovered that he had made a great circle and returned to where he had started, forcing him to adjust his course again.
He flew for seven days and seven nights, resting four times along the way. Each time, he sat on a drifting meteorite to meditate and restore his energy.
The largest meteorites were as big as cities, with traces of buildings still remaining on them, as though they were fragments of some shattered world. The smallest were no bigger than a fist, drifting slowly through the void. The Chaos Qi in the air grew increasingly thin, replaced by an indescribable energy that was gentler and purer than Chaos Qi.
Lin Feng drew a deep breath and felt his mind clear and his spirits lift. Even the Chaos Pearl inside him trembled slightly, as though cheering. He felt a slight loosening in his cultivation, a sign of an impending breakthrough, but he still lacked the final spark.
