Ten Blood Demons had been sealed and taken captive.
But the true threat had only just appeared.
The dozen or so Void Beasts had watched coldly from a distance, taking no part in the earlier battle.
Now, they slowly drew closer.
The Void Beasts' forms shifted constantly. Sometimes they assumed human shapes; sometimes they became hideous, enormous beasts; sometimes they turned into masses of insubstantial shadow. Their bodies hovered between substance and illusion, making them extremely difficult to pin down.
Around every Void Beast, space constantly warped, shattered, and repaired itself, as though their very existence was an act of destruction against space.
The Void Beast at their head had the most terrifying aura. Its body twisted and transformed without pause, becoming a human silhouette with indistinct features one moment and an enormous black beast the next. Its eyes were two pools of bottomless darkness, seemingly capable of devouring everything.
When its gaze swept across the group, everyone felt a chill in their hearts, as though some terrifying existence had fixed its sights on them.
"Human, you are strong." The Void Beast spoke in a harsh, grating voice, as though it came from the endless void. "But the Myriad Worlds Rift is not a place you should have come."
Lin Feng said coolly, "An otherworldly fiend dares run rampant here?"
The Void Beast laughed, its laughter like the cries of a night owl, making their hair stand on end. "Fiends? You humans are the invaders of this Emperor Realm. This Myriad Worlds Rift was our territory to begin with. You humans sealed us here for millions of years."
Lin Feng said nothing, holding the Chaos Sword across his chest.
The Void Beast continued, "Today, the seal has broken.
