After dealing with Apocalypse, the four Great Ape clones vanished as their ki ran out, and Hawking's main body descended weakly.
Releasing all the ki in his body at once was difficult to endure even in the Saiyan Great Ape state.

Hawking, restored to his normal human form, looked gravely at Magneto as he approached.
The only person capable of controlling metal so silently that he could cut off Hawking's tail was the enhanced Magneto. Besides, ordinary people would not know that cutting off his tail would force him out of his Great Ape state.
"Where are Professor Ororo and the others?"
He had just sent Storm and the others after Mystique to stop Magneto from controlling Earth's magnetic field. Now that only Magneto had returned, it was obvious they had failed.
