At eleven in the morning, after the meeting ended, Hawking took the Tesseract he had gotten from Nick Fury and Apparated to Kamar-Taj.
The strategy meeting had been a success. All the Super Heroes were very willing to fight Planet Devourer with everything they had.
It was not because they were unafraid of death. Super Heroes with qualities like Spider-Man's were, after all, a minority. Most of the Super Heroes who joined the Hero Alliance were ordinary people.
The most important reasons they became Super Heroes were the good benefits and the sense of accomplishment that came with becoming famous. They regarded being a Super Hero more as a job.
And thanks to the Hero Alliance's comprehensive system, this job was not particularly dangerous.
If they were truly asked to sacrifice themselves to save humanity, they still would not be able to do it. But that was only human nature.
So why had things turned out so well?
First, Hawking had offered a huge amount of bonus money. People died for wealth, birds died for food. As long as the reward was high enough, even if there was only a one percent chance of success, someone would be willing to take the risk.
Besides, when the sky fell, there would be tall people to hold it up. They had faith in Hawking's strength and were willing to take this risk.
Second, Hawking had made a promise. If the plan ultimately failed and Earth was destroyed, all the Super Heroes participating in this operation, along with their families and friends, would be able to survive safely.
They could send their people to headquarters in advance, and Hawking would have Kaguya Otsutsuki take them into Ancestor Space.
For the sake of their wives, children, relatives, and friends, most Super Heroes would agree.
