Hawking put on a pleasantly surprised expression upon hearing Ajak's words.
"I've heard of the Celestials before. They seem to be gods who create planets and life throughout the universe. They must be righteous and benevolent gods, which is why they're willing to come to Earth and help us drive away the Planet Devourer. I'd heard before that your Eternals came to Earth because the Celestials sent you to protect humanity. So it really was true."
"Yes, yes."
Hearing Hawking's words, both Ajak and Ikaris wore strained smiles.
Only the two of them among the Eternals knew the truth.
At that moment, Hawking's words were like thorns piercing their hearts, leaving them embarrassed and miserable, yet unable to say anything.
"All right. Since the Celestials are helping us, we'll make a slight adjustment to the battle plan. We can't place all our hopes on the Celestials. After confirming the final plan, Hawking dismissed everyone to rest.
Only Ancient One remained behind. She looked at Hawking with undisguised amazement.

She did not understand the energy known as ki, but she could sense that the threat Hawking posed to her had suddenly risen dramatically.
Hawking smiled at that.
"It can't be helped. I have a feeling the Celestials aren't reliable, and in the end, we'll still have to rely on ourselves. Besides, the stronger I am, the better our odds in tomorrow's final battle, right?"
"Not necessarily."
