Hawking did not simply let the shattered Great Catfish go. He raised a hand and sucked it in, directly devouring the dead Great Catfish after it transformed entirely into Cursed Energy. It fused with the planet representing Cursed Energy within his Cosmo.
Yuji Itadori's Cursed Energy was not particularly strong, so the planet representing Cursed Energy in his Cosmo was also the smallest.
To enrich the Cursed Energy planet, he had tried devouring cursed spirits the same way he devoured the Soul King.
The results showed that it worked.

After devouring the Great Catfish, Hawking discovered that the Cursed Energy on that planet had increased, boosting his overall strength somewhat. He could not help rubbing his chin.
In this world, as long as humans existed, there would be negative emotions, and cursed spirits would continue to be born
