Using Reverse Summoning to travel to Mount Myōboku in the Naruto World was an adventure in itself. It was not that he feared for his safety—with his current strength, he was confident in his ability to protect himself.
What worried him was the issue of summoning between different worlds.
Although Mount Myōboku was one of the Three Great Sage Regions, it was still located in the Naruto World, only five days' journey from Konoha Village. It was simply inaccessible without the toads' permission.
So even if he were Reverse Summoned there, he could still leave on foot and return to Konoha.
But if he were Reverse Summoned over and no one here used the Summoning Technique to summon him back, there would be no way for him to travel from Mount Myōboku back to the Marvel World.
It would be fine if he were automatically sent back once the time ran out. What he feared was that when the time was up, the Naruto template would simply be removed while he was still on Mount Myōboku, leaving him stranded in the Naruto World forever. That would be ridiculous.
So he planned to use a Shadow Clone as a test first. Once he understood the rules, he would send his real body over.

Gamabunta nodded, then dismissed the Summoning Technique and returned to Mount Myōboku.
A moment later, Hawking's Shadow Clone burst into smoke with a bang and vanished from the forest.
