Jiraiya was using a Communication Toad to speak with Orochimaru.
"Orochimaru, Danzo has been thrown into the dungeon by the old man. Root has been completely uprooted."
"The old man has also cleared your name. The villagers now know that you were framed."
"Tsunade has returned to the village too. Why don't you come back and take a look?"
Jiraiya had contacted Orochimaru once again. This time, the Third Hokage said nothing, leaving Jiraiya to speak with Orochimaru alone.
Jiraiya told Orochimaru everything the Third Hokage had done recently.
Orochimaru replied, "I owe the old man a favor from last time. I'll come back and take a look first. We can discuss the rest afterward."
Then the Communication Toad indicated that Orochimaru had already left.
After sending the Communication Toad back, Jiraiya asked the Third Hokage, "Old man, Orochimaru only said he'd come back to take a look. What do we do?"
The Third Hokage remained calm. "It doesn't matter. If he comes back, he'll discover that the village can offer him greater conveniences."
Jiraiya shrugged. The Third Hokage had seemed somewhat unfamiliar to him lately. Still, it was nice not having to think for himself.
"Where did Naruto go?" the Third Hokage asked.
"He went to the Uchiha."
Jiraiya scratched his head. The Third Hokage had asked him to keep an eye on Naruto and try to build a good relationship with him, so he could better watch over the Nine-Tails and pass the Will of Fire on to Naruto.
Yet Naruto was now extremely resistant toward Jiraiya. Forget becoming master and disciple—even being ordinary friends was impossible.
"Tsunade is protecting Naruto and won't let me see him. She even acknowledged Naruto as her little brother."
