Not long after returning from Hokage Headquarters, Danzo received a document from the Third Hokage removing him from his position as an Advisory Elder.
Danzo picked up the document and glanced over it.
Then he flung it heavily to the floor.
Suddenly, a sharp pain shot through his right eye.
"Urgh... Agh..."
Danzo clutched his right eye and groaned in pain. "Someone!"
Medical personnel from Root quickly stepped forward to examine Danzo.
After working for quite a while and injecting Danzo with two medicines, the pain in his right eye gradually subsided and became mild.
"What is going on? Why does my Sharingan hurt?"
The medical personnel replied solemnly, "Sir, this transplanted Sharingan is deteriorating. It is expected to lose its ocular power and become useless in a week."
"Why is this one deteriorating so quickly?" It was not the first time Danzo had encountered a deteriorating Sharingan, but every previous Sharingan had lasted for several years.
Yet this one had begun deteriorating immediately after being installed.
"Sir, every Sharingan has a different constitution. Some are highly compatible and thus remain stable."
"Others, like this one, deteriorate especially quickly when implanted in someone outside the Uchiha Clan."
"Oh?" Danzo had not expected the one Sharingan he had left to be such a poor specimen.
The Uchiha side was like a hedgehog now; there was simply no way to get at them. Where could he find another Sharingan?
Danzo's thoughts shifted. "How compatible is Kakashi's Sharingan?"
The medical personnel froze for a moment. Seeing Danzo's icy gaze, he hurriedly answered, "Kakashi's Sharingan was implanted years ago. Its compatibility is extremely high, and it is very stable."
Danzo snorted coldly. "Bring Kinoe to me."
