Ch. 21Roar

Shamu exposed the masked man as Uchiha Obito by pressing Kakashi to admit he had seen Obito’s face. Kakashi explained that Obito blamed Konoha for Rin’s death, while Shamu condemned him for using the Sharingan to control the Nine-Tails and demanded that the village help clear the Uchiha’s name.

  • Shamu explained that the masked man’s inability to use Susanoo pointed to him possessing only one Mangekyō Sharingan, and identified Uchiha Obito as the likely culprit.

Ch. 22Precious Wealth

Shamu learned that Keimei’s Mangekyō Sharingan could protect others from harm and fatigue, but using it quickly risked blindness. He reassigned Keimei away from combat so the Uchiha clan could preserve and make use of his abilities.

  • Keimei asked Shamu whether his Mangekyō Sharingan would eventually make him blind, and Shamu confirmed it would.
  • Keimei explained how he awakened his eyes and described his abilities, Divine Guardian and Mercy of Life.
  • Shamu learned that Mercy of Life could lock a target’s state, preventing injury and fatigue, but could only be used briefly before Keimei went blind.
  • Shamu proposed moving Keimei away from the front lines, and Keimei agreed as long as he could contribute to the clan.
  • Shamu told Keimei to keep leading the barrier team but never fight, and Keimei accepted the reassignment.

Ch. 23The Second Pair of Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan

  • Obito searched for the remaining Uchiha clansmen and found them in an underground shelter.

Ch. 24The Reason

Rasa agreed that Elder Chiyo should oversee Sunagakure if the conflict with Konoha escalated, with Yura staying behind to help her. In Konoha, Shamu awakened the Kubisaki Lizard contract and learned from its envoy, Aokimaru, about the clan’s history and strength.

  • Yura urged Rasa to bring Elder Chiyo back to manage Sunagakure while Baki remained with Gaara, and volunteered to assist Chiyo.
  • Tsunade explained that the Kubisaki Lizards were a powerful Summoning Beast clan that had hibernated after their contract scroll was lost.
  • Shamu poured Chakra into the contract scroll and summoned Aokimaru, who introduced himself as the Kubisaki Lizard clan’s contract envoy.
  • Aokimaru recognized Shamu’s overwhelming life energy, learned he was the Uchiha clan head, and respectfully introduced the clan.

  • Minato congratulated Naruto, Sasuke, and Hinata for passing the test.

Ch. 27Great Melee

Shamu fought the Withered Star God while Yōshiki, Hikari, and Shimei joined the battle, turning it into a prolonged melee. As the approaching star stripped Shinobi Star of life and matter, Shamu sensed that something was missing from its outer edge.

  • The Withered Star God transformed his body and formed a bone scythe, then fought Shamu while Yōshiki and Hikari attacked from the side.
  • Shamu’s energy-shaping abilities strengthened his armor and spatially tearing sword strikes, allowing him to push the Withered Star God back despite the other attacks.
  • Shimei used Intent Reflection to make Shamu injure himself whenever Shimei drew his attention, giving the Withered Star God an opening to attack.
  • Shamu, the Withered Star God, Shimei, Hikari, and Yōshiki became embroiled in a melee, while Kūmu remained occupied stabilizing space.

  • Elder Fuji deployed a barrier that blocked the reconnaissance team’s sensing, allowing a massive sandstorm to approach the examination grounds undetected.
  • The reconnaissance team detected the storm too late, and Kankuro suspended the examination while Temari and Kankuro led teams to rescue the examinees.
  • Rasa learned that the sandstorm was heading toward the examinees and that Gaara remained in the stronghold, while Chiyo received the news and decided to investigate.
  • The sandstorm trapped examinees and hindered even Hidden Sand Village’s rescuers as it swept across the desert.
  • Gaara stayed seated under the watch of two jonin, while grains of sand fell from his body unnoticed.

Ch. 33Deadlocked

Madara and Shamu fought Yōshiki, Yunshiki, and Ranshiki after Madara killed Ginshiki, but the surviving fighters’ unusual abilities kept the battle at a stalemate. By nightfall, neither side had gained a decisive advantage, and Yōshiki relied on his fire body’s endurance as Shamu devised a new tactic.

  • Madara killed Ginshiki, while Shamu continued attacking Yōshiki and forced the Divine Garden Clan onto the defensive.
  • Ranshiki joined Yunshiki by transforming into watery ribbons around her arm, strengthening Yunshiki and helping her deflect Madara’s attacks.

  • Shamu checked the locations of his allies and the Uchiha Clan, then entered the Dream Realm to practice Water Release.

Ch. 35Chakra Reacts

Jiraiya used Gamatora to confirm that Minato’s chakra was reacting as if he were alive, strengthening Jiraiya’s suspicion that Orochimaru’s former bodyguard Number One was Minato. Orochimaru refused to explain, and Jiraiya was left waiting to learn how Nagato was doing.

  • Minato took the badly injured Nagato and Konan to Orochimaru’s laboratory, where Karin rushed Nagato into the treatment room with Konan.
  • Minato left using the Flying Thunder God Technique, leaving Jiraiya alone in the laboratory.

  • Shamu persuaded Tsunade to join the race so she could draw medical ninja votes away from Orochimaru, and she agreed to help him.
  • Obito brought the unconscious Kakuzu to the Fire Temple and offered him a job targeting people with large bounties, including Chiriku.
