The Third Hokage agreed to disband Danzo’s Root after Shamu revealed Danzo’s role in abducting the infants and pressed him to protect the Uchiha. In Hidden Mist, Obito arranged to lure Yagura out, then incapacitated him with his Kamui Eye.

Shamu publicly exposed Jiraiya for peeping into the women's bathhouse and used the villagers’ outrage to force the Third Hokage to punish him. Jiraiya was taken to serve fifteen days in detention while the Third Hokage promised he would not escape.

• Shamu rallied the villagers against Jiraiya and accused the Anbu and Third Hokage of shielding him.
