Jiraiya returned to Konoha and discussed the Uchiha’s separation from the village with the Third Hokage, who asked him to find an opportunity to test Uchiha Shamu’s strength. Jiraiya fled after being caught peeping at women in a hot spring, while Root members stopped the pursuing Hyuga.
