Chapter Summaries

Shamu and Orochimaru prepared to fuse Keimei’s Mangekyō Sharingan with Yoya’s to create an Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan. Orochimaru outlined a method that would drain Yoya’s eyes of their ocular power while preserving their tissue, and the procedure was about to begin.

• Shamu praised Orochimaru’s appearance, and Keimei explained that he had come to fuse the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan.
• Orochimaru said some of Shamu’s energy remained in his body, then agreed with Shamu that Hashirama Cells’ vitality was needed for the fusion.
• Tsunade left with Dan Katō after handing much of her shinobi-war preparation work to Shizune.
• Shamu, Keimei, and Orochimaru entered the laboratory, where Orochimaru examined Keimei’s and Yoya’s depleted Mangekyō Sharingan.
• Orochimaru proposed transplanting some of Yoya’s eye tissue into Keimei and draining the rest of Yoya’s ocular power, leaving the eyes as a preserved corpse.
• Karin finished setting up the monitoring equipment, and Orochimaru used the Transformation Technique to restore his former height before beginning.

After returning from the Moon, Obito restored the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path and found Black Zetsu missing, leaving him to carry on the Infinite Tsukuyomi plan. He revived Muku by bringing the Box of Paradise back to him, then asked what Obito wanted him to do.

• Obito recovered, returned to Mountain Graveyard, and used up much of his ocular power to summon the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path.
• Tobi asked Obito why Black Zetsu had vanished, and Obito claimed that the Otsutsuki on the Moon had banished him into outer space.
• Tobi doubted Black Zetsu was dead and hoped he would return to handle the plan to resurrect Lady Kaguya.
• Obito remembered Muku and found him close to death, so he released the Box of Paradise from the Kamui Dimension and restored him.
• Muku complained that Obito had nearly killed him and asked what Obito wanted him to do.

The Allied Shinobi Forces defended the entrance to the Woye Plains as Obito’s Stone Golems and White Zetsu attacked. Obito sent White Zetsu through underground routes to strike the rear, turning the battle into close-quarters combat while he searched for Kakashi and assessed the forces.

• Shamu assigned Jiraiya and his three disciples to help hold the Woye Plains entrance against the Stone Golems and White Zetsu.
• The Allied Shinobi Forces used fire oil, Fire Release, Water Release, and other techniques to weaken and destroy Stone Golems while rotating exhausted troops.
• White Zetsu advanced along the flanks and burrowed underground, bypassing the walls as the Hyuga Clan tracked their movements.
• Minato warned the Kage that Obito had gone around to cut off their retreat, and Obito emerged behind the Allied Shinobi Forces with White Zetsu.
• The White Zetsu erupted among the Allied Shinobi Forces and began a brutal close-quarters battle while Obito disappeared underground and searched for Kakashi.

Muku learned that Shamu could save Ryuzetsu and that Orochimaru might let him see his father again, while Obito fed the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path and began reviving the Ten-Tails. As the Allied Shinobi Forces approached, Shamu mocked Obito’s dream and prepared for the coming battle.

• Shamu promised Muku that he could save Ryuzetsu and suggested Orochimaru might use Impure World Reincarnation to bring Muwi back for him to speak with.
• Obito fed the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path the Box of Paradise’s energy, while Shamu placed a Flying Thunder God mark on Muku.
• Shamu sensed the Allied Shinobi Forces approaching and flew toward Obito as the Demonic Statue began to stir.
• Obito formed hand seals and announced that the Ten-Tails’ revival would begin the end of the world.
• Shamu mocked Obito’s borrowed ideals and threatened to change the stone tablet, as the Allied Shinobi Forces arrived behind him.

Shamu negotiated with Mei Terumi to help expose Yagura’s genjutsu control in exchange for Kurita Kyoko, Kisame Hoshigaki, and help finding two people. Kisame killed Suikazan Fuguki, then learned that the figure controlling Yagura was Obito, who claimed to be Uchiha Madara; another voice interrupted to call him a liar.

• Mei Terumi met Shamu after Kurita Kyoko presented evidence that the Fourth Mizukage, Karatachi Yagura, was controlled by genjutsu.
• Shamu offered to help Mei expose Yagura and asked for Kurita Kyoko and Kisame Hoshigaki, plus help finding two people.
• Mei Terumi agreed to cooperate, and Shamu predicted Suikazan Fuguki would die if she watched Kisame closely.
• Kisame ambushed and killed Suikazan Fuguki, taking Samehada as his trophy.
• The Fourth Mizukage praised Kisame and introduced a masked figure, who offered Kisame a place to belong.
• Kisame recognized the Sharingan controlling Yagura, and Obito claimed to be Uchiha Madara before a teasing voice called him a liar.

Shamu learned how Hayate Gekko’s Transparency Technique worked, gave Minato the remaining Ninja Swords of Love, and left to investigate the Cloud Village’s Seven-Colored Ore. Back in Hidden Radiance Village, he examined Yoya’s newly awakened Mangekyō Sharingan and explained how to use its abilities and preserve its power, before Yoya asked him for a favor.

• Shamu watched Hayate Gekko demonstrate the Transparency Technique and learned that it could be maintained with Chakra but might be detected by small barriers.
• Shamu gave Minato a scroll containing the remaining Ninja Swords of Love and said he planned to investigate the Seven-Colored Ore in the Cloud Village.
• Minato asked the Yin Nine-Tails to assess Shamu’s Chakra, and it said his reserves were probably about the level of a tailed beast.
• Shamu returned to Hidden Radiance Village and summoned Yoya from the training ground to discuss his newly awakened Mangekyō Sharingan.
• Yoya demonstrated his time-slowing and time-accelerating abilities, and Shamu explained their uses, the Mangekyō’s side effects, and ways to conserve its power.
• After Shamu finished advising him, Yoya said he had a favor to ask.

Flying Waterfall negotiated the return of Biwa Juzo, Zabuza, and Suigetsu to the Hidden Mist Village while telling Ao that Kisame would handle future contact. The group agreed to return, and Flying Waterfall prepared to leave after passing Ao intelligence about the Cloud Village.

• Flying Waterfall told Ao that Kisame had come to help and that the Hidden Mist Village could pardon Biwa Juzo, Zabuza, and the others if they returned.
• Flying Waterfall told Ao that Uchiha Itachi was an Akatsuki informant in the Cloud Village and that Yugito and Killer B had been severely wounded.
• Ao agreed to keep Flying Waterfall's supposed ties to the Uchiha secret and to report them to Mei Terumi.
• Ao told Biwa Juzo and Zabuza that Mei Terumi would forgive their past crimes if they returned to the Hidden Mist Village.
• Ao offered Suigetsu access to Hozuki Clan secret manuals, and Suigetsu agreed to return to the Hidden Mist Village.

Satori attacked the Hidden Sand team searching for Gaara, inflicting heavy casualties while Rasa fought to protect his shinobi. Shamu revealed that Gaara had already been rescued and led Baki to seek help from Konoha as Satori continued his assault.

• Satori flew toward Rasa’s Hidden Sand team and dodged their Gold Dust, Wind Release, and other attacks while killing shinobi.
• Rasa sent Baki to look for Gaara as he fought Satori, but the team suffered casualties.
• Shamu told Baki that Gaara had already been rescued and scolded the Hidden Sand for coming out needlessly.
• Baki agreed to return with Shamu to bring Rasa back to Konoha and ask for reinforcements.
• Rasa unleashed a massive Gold Dust wave, but Satori blasted through it and continued attacking the Hidden Sand.

The Land of Fire’s daimyo raged over his country’s failed imitation of Uchiha cuisine, while an emissary offered him something he needed. In Konoha, the Third Hokage learned that Kabuto could use Sage Mode and realized how exceptional Orochimaru’s subordinate was.

• The Land of Fire’s daimyo berated his aides after envoys mocked the country’s copied dishes and demanded a way to reclaim his reputation.
• An aide explained that Danzo had defected and the Uchiha could not be forced to share their recipes, then reported that one of Orochimaru’s subordinates had arrived with something the daimyo needed.
• An Anbu told the Third Hokage that a black-market mission to assassinate Kabuto had failed, but someone had obtained information about him for one million ryo.
• The Third Hokage learned that Kabuto could use Sage Mode and concluded that Orochimaru had trained him at Ryūchi Cave.
• The Third Hokage reflected that Kabuto was an extraordinary talent who had been driven away by Danzo.

Flying Waterfall led Kisame, Biwa Juzo, Zabuza, and Suigetsu to attack Killer B, while Shamu gained Water Release rewards for changing the three former Hidden Mist shinobi’s fates. The group surrounded Killer B, who transformed completely into the Eight-Tails as Kisame launched Samehada at him.

• Shamu received two Water Dragon Bullet techniques and one Shield Hat technique for changing the fates of Momochi Zabuza, Hozuki Suigetsu, and Biwa Juzo, then exchanged the rewards for three Shield Hat techniques.
• Kisame reunited with Biwa Juzo, Zabuza, and Suigetsu, and Suigetsu tried to grab Samehada before Kisame recognized him as Mangetsu’s younger brother.
• Flying Waterfall named Killer B as their target and said Kisame would lead the attack while the others assisted.
• Flying Waterfall’s group found Killer B, who rapped as they surrounded him and then transformed directly into his complete Tailed Beast form.
• Kisame threw Samehada toward Killer B, and one of the Eight-Tails’ tentacles caught it.

Minato returned Gaara to Konoha and learned more about Satori, the monster unleashed from the Box of Paradise. As Satori hunted intelligence agents, Obito and Black Zetsu watched and concluded that Minato’s return made acting against Konoha too dangerous.

• Minato returned to Konoha with Gaara and learned that Rasa had gone to the battlefield with his people.
• Minato learned that Satori could sense fear and killing intent, read minds, and turn captured people into puppets through the Box of Paradise.
• Shamu saw intelligence agents gathering near Konoha, and Satori flew out to hunt them.
• Satori found the fleeing agents and killed or devoured them through the Box of Paradise.
• Obito watched Satori with Black Zetsu and Tobi, then said Minato’s return meant they could not act against Konoha.

Shamu told Jiraiya that following the Great Toad Sage’s prophecy would cost the lives of Jiraiya and his loved ones, and urged him to choose his own future. Jiraiya rejected the prophecy’s hold over him and left determined to create the future himself.

• Jiraiya took Shamu to the conference room and used the Heavenly Cover Formation before asking to see Shamu’s Mangekyō Sharingan.
• Jiraiya said the Great Toad Sage’s prophecies had been blocked and warned that Naruto could not become the savior unless he became Jiraiya’s disciple.
• Shamu refused to let Jiraiya approach Naruto and claimed that Naruto saving the Shinobi World would mean Jiraiya, Minato, Konan, Nagato, and Yahiko would die.
• Shamu urged Jiraiya to fight for a future of his own, and Jiraiya thanked him for reviving Minato.
• After reflecting on his disciples and the Tale of the Gutsy Ninja, Jiraiya decided to create the future himself and leapt out the conference room window.

Obito attacked Yoya to take his Sharingan, but Yoya awakened the Mangekyō Sharingan and wounded him. With Killer B arriving and Yoya still fighting, Obito escaped to the Kamui Dimension with Hiruko.

• Obito used Banshō Ten'in to pull Yoya toward him, but Yoya's Lightning Release strike passed through Obito before Susanoo knocked Yoya down.
• Obito restrained Yoya with Wood Release and tried to take his eyes while Yugito attacked, but he subdued her with the Rinnegan and Sharingan.
• Yoya awakened his Mangekyō Sharingan, broke free, slowed Obito's Kamui, and slashed open Obito's abdomen with a Kunai.
• Hiruko tried to flee, but Killer B arrived in his Gyūki form and knocked him back with a tentacle.
• Obito seized Hiruko and escaped into the Kamui Dimension while Yoya remained standing with Susanoo.

Shamu became the Allied Forces Commander and laid out a detailed plan for organizing and preparing the shinobi forces for war against Obito. The chapter ended with Ōnoki asking Shamu to demonstrate his full strength so the leaders could assess what role he might play in the battles ahead.

• Ōnoki argued that Shamu was the best choice to command the Allied Forces because he could counter Obito and provide rapid support, and the other leaders agreed.
• Shamu accepted the position, appointed Ōnoki as an advisor, and assigned Konoha's Nara Clan, the Cloud Village, Tsunade, and sensory ninja roles in planning, communications, medical care, and reconnaissance.
• Shamu proposed six combat divisions, special Uchiha Assault and Minato Special Rescue units, Hyuga guards for every unit, and intelligence files on Obito's forces.
• Shamu called for logistical preparations and contributions from smaller villages, then warned the leaders that White Zetsu could disguise themselves and explained that Natural Energy attacks could expose them.

Naruto, Sasuke, and Hinata met at Uchiha Snack Street before the Chunin Exams and befriended Gaara and his teammates. After Gaara left to seek Shamu, a Grass Ninja genin secretly tested a flame technique on Naruto and then Gaara, reacting with surprise and interest to Gaara.

• Naruto, Sasuke, and Hinata reunited at Uchiha Snack Street and discussed the upcoming Chunin Exams while eating stinky tofu.
• Naruto met Gaara, and the two introduced their teammates and learned they would face each other in the Chunin Exams.
• Gaara said he had hoped to thank Shamu, but Baki urged him to leave, and Gaara and Naruto promised to meet again at the exams.
• A Grass Ninja genin secretly produced flames while watching Naruto, then tested the technique toward Gaara and reacted with astonishment before studying Gaara's Hidden Sand forehead protector.

Madara challenged Hashirama, but Itachi fought him instead and revealed his Complete Body Susanoo. Meanwhile, Shamu prepared the Allied Shinobi Forces’ operation against the Ten-Tails, revived Ryuzetsu, and offered Orochimaru an opportunity.

• Madara tried to provoke Hashirama into fighting, but Hashirama refused, and Shamu left Itachi to face Madara.
• Itachi manifested his Complete Body Susanoo and fought Madara evenly, thrilling the Uchiha Clan and forcing the Allied Shinobi Forces to retreat from the battle’s aftermath.
• Shamu brought Tenten, Ajisai, Neji, and Yoya to the front lines, where Tenten and Ajisai began placing Contract Seal Techniques on Minato Namikaze and the other ninja.
• Shamu revived Ryuzetsu with Reanimation Jutsu, and Ryuzetsu and Muku reunited.
• Shamu told Orochimaru he was far closer to becoming a Kekkei Mōra and said he had an opportunity for him.

Uchiha Shamu met Sasuke and Naruto in the woods, then took them to Ichiraku Ramen and treated them to a meal. As the children ate, Shamu sensed the Third Hokage watching them with the Telescope Technique.

• Sasuke and Naruto talked about Sasuke's absence, while Anbu monitored Naruto and reported Sasuke's contact to the Third Hokage.
• Uchiha Shamu watched Sasuke comfort Naruto, then revealed his Sharingan and introduced himself to Sasuke.
• Shamu invited Sasuke and Naruto to eat, and Naruto happily accepted after Shamu offered to treat him to ramen.
• At Ichiraku Ramen, Shamu ordered Naruto a Grand Special Ramen and let Sasuke choose his meal.
• Shamu sensed the Third Hokage's Chakra sweep over the shop and recognized the Telescope Technique.

Shimei from Boruto's space-time merged his soul with Shimei of Shamu's Space-Time, who then hid from the Space-Time Variable by sending his corpse into space-time turbulence. Madara and Minato found only signs of Amado's escape and discussed the approaching Divine Garden Clan and the allies preparing to fight them.

• Shimei of Shamu's Space-Time explained that the Divine Garden Clan had little energy and could not defeat the powerful experts on the planet, while Amado waited with him for the other Shimei to arrive.
• Shimei from Boruto's space-time crossed over, agreed to help revive Shimei through Spirit Devouring Revival, and fused his soul with Shimei of Shamu's Space-Time.
• After detecting the Space-Time Variable's foresight, Shimei ordered Amado to leave his corpse in the space-time currents and followed him through a portal, while a sphere exploded at their former location.
• Madara and Minato arrived after the explosion, recognized Amado's handiwork, and agreed Madara would investigate alone when the next space-time fluctuation appeared.
• Madara warned that the Divine Garden Clan would return in a little over a year and urged the allies to grow stronger; Minato noted Haku's relentless training in Itachi's Tsukuyomi World.

At Konoha’s Mission Hall, Hyuga Yuto used a fabricated warning about the Fourth Hokage to stop Sarutobi Takasuke from retaliating against Ikeda Hiroshi after a mission dispute. Yuto reflected on the Sarutobi Clan’s growing abuses and planned to report the incident to Hizashi.

• Hyuga Yuto intervened when Sarutobi Takasuke tried to take a mission Ikeda Hiroshi had accepted, then explained how the Sarutobi Clan could use the Military Police Force to harass his family’s restaurant.
• Yuto told Ikeda Hiroshi to act defiantly and leave, promising to protect his family, so Ikeda Hiroshi threw the mission commission at Sarutobi Takasuke and walked out.
• Yuto pulled Sarutobi Takasuke aside and falsely suggested that Ikeda Hiroshi was connected to the Fourth Hokage, persuading him not to pursue the dispute.
• Yuto sent Sarutobi Takasuke away after claiming he had invoked the Fifth Hokage’s name, then resolved to report the Sarutobi Clan’s conduct to Hizashi.

Shamu directed Konan to trigger hidden Exploding Tags in Konoha while Jiraiya told the Third Hokage that Danzo had caused Yahiko’s death and turned Nagato against Konoha. The Third Hokage summoned Danzo, who went to the Hokage Office unaware of the accusations awaiting him.

• Shamu gave Konan a map marking places where Exploding Tags were buried and told her to set them off, leave a note, and return to Nagato.
• Jiraiya told the Third Hokage about Nagato, Yahiko, and Konan, and explained that Danzo had arranged Yahiko’s death and that Nagato and Konan were seeking revenge on Konoha.
• Jiraiya said Konan was in the Uchiha Clan and was preparing to join Shamu against Danzo, prompting the Third Hokage to summon Danzo and keep Jiraiya in the office.
• Danzo learned that the third covert line would not buy intelligence and that Zetsu wanted Root to investigate the Uchiha Clan.
• A Root member told Danzo that the Third Hokage wanted to see him, and Danzo went to the Hokage Office alone.
