After reaching level nine, Garen gained a new skill:

Twilight of the Gods:

"Removes all control effects on the user and grants immunity to any disabling skills for 6 seconds. Garen also gains 70% bonus movement speed for 3 seconds when running toward an enemy target."

Twilight of the Gods was the ultimate skill of Olaf the Berserker in the game.

Unlike the original version:

The skill Garen obtained retained only its crowd-control immunity and speed boost. It lacked the passive defense increase and the attack power bonus granted by the skill. The only compensation was that its speed boost lasted 3 seconds, longer than in the original version.

Even so, the skill was still terrifying when brought into reality.

Setting aside the immunity to control effects, the 70% movement speed boost alone could make Garen as swift as lightning. It was all the more important in a situation that required pursuing an enemy.

Another benefit of reaching level nine was:

The physical enhancement brought by the level increase allowed Garen to finally master Geppo, which he had previously been unable to use fully.

Garen fixed his gaze on Miss Valentine, who was flying ever higher above him, and activated his newly acquired skill:

"Twilight of the Gods!"

As Twilight of the Gods activated, a surge of steaming blood-red aura suddenly rose from Garen's tall body, while a bright crimson glow spread over his skin.

The scarlet aura swirled around Garen, seeming to set the surrounding air ablaze. From afar, he looked like a blazing humanoid furnace, as though he had opened the Eight Gates.

"Geppo!"

Garen's feet collided violently with the air, sending out visible shockwaves.

His crimson-glowing body shot rapidly upward on the force of the recoil, chasing after the high-flying Miss Valentine like a rocket.
