"Truly arrogant!"
Golden Lion swept his gaze over them disdainfully, then said to Garen with contempt:
"If Kuzan hadn't helped you, what right would a junior like you have to stand before me?"
"So what?"
Garen had none of a traditional swordsman's obsession with duels and immediately mocked him:
"Those who follow the right path gain support; those who lose it gain little help."
"You were once a great pirate, yet now you can't even find a single ally. Don't you find that pathetic?"
"You!"
Golden Lion was so angered by the jab that his chest tightened.
It had to be said that Garen's mockery had struck Golden Lion's sore spot.
Back when he had contended with Roger and Whitebeard upon the seas, he had been a great pirate surrounded by countless followers, able to summon a crowd with a single call.
But now, he had fallen so low that he was nothing more than a zoo director whose subordinates were all beasts.
"Heh. An ally, you say?"
Golden Lion laughed in extreme anger and said meaningfully to Garen:
"I called in a Shichibukai as my ally. Is that enough weight for you?"
As he spoke, Golden Lion lightly waved his hand, and another massive boulder descended from the sky.
And atop that boulder stood a breathtaking beauty capable of toppling nations.
She wore a sexy cheongsam with a plunging neckline and high slits. Her fair, delicate collarbones, full chest, and smooth, slender legs were all openly displayed, enough to stir anyone's heart.
Her thick black hair was styled in an elegant traditional hime cut. Snake-shaped golden earrings hung from her small, lovely earlobes, while the fitted cheongsam bore the distinctive emblem of Amazon Lily. She possessed a noble, mysterious air, touched by an exotic charm.
"Empress Hancock?!"
