By the time Baby 5 re-formed her body after the explosion, her partner had already vanished.
Only Reiju, the victor, remained in midair.
"Where's Buffalo?!"
Baby 5 demanded anxiously, "What did you do to him?"
Reiju did not answer. She merely chuckled.
"More importantly."
"You should worry about yourself first, Miss Maid."
With that, the butterfly wings behind Reiju fluttered, and she dove at Baby 5 on the ground like an eagle swooping down on its prey.
Baby 5 hurriedly dodged, barely managing to evade the attack by a hair's breadth.
Reiju's foot struck empty ground, kicking up a storm of shattered stones and billowing dust.
Yet Reiju's body did not pause in the slightest.
Her "superhuman" body possessed extraordinary flexibility. The instant she touched the ground, she twisted and coiled like a nimble snake, effortlessly dispersing the force of impact.
Borrowing that force, Reiju instantly shifted the direction of her attack from vertical to horizontal and sped after Baby 5.
Baby 5 saw the dust before her stir, and a dazzling flash of pink burst from within the gray curtain.
Weapon Transformation: Round Shield!
With no time to dodge, she could only transform her arm into a sturdy round shield and use it to block Reiju's frontal attack head-on.
Buzz!
With a long metallic ring, the round shield formed from Baby 5's arm caved in and warped.
Caught in the aftershock of that tremendous force, Baby 5 was suddenly hurled backward and crashed heavily into a pile of bricks and rubble.
A moment later, Baby 5 clutched her arm, now twisted and bruised from the severe injury, and struggled to rise from the ruins.
She still had some ability to protect herself, but she no longer had any chance to strike back.
Earlier, when she and Buffalo had attacked
