Stussy, the Queen of the Pleasure District, had returned to the town that belonged to her.
Though both were in the entertainment business, the Pleasure District differed in its core operations, but outwardly, it was not much different from Tezoro's Gran Tesoro. Both were scenes of glittering extravagance and decadent luxury.
Eating, drinking, whoring, and gambling had always gone hand in hand. The Pleasure District was likewise packed with restaurants, hotels, and casinos, though its scale was still far inferior to the world's largest entertainment complex operated by Tezoro.
However, there were still differences.
Unlike the all-purpose entertainment complex Gran Tesoro, this town, so heavily specialized, carried a faint yet pervasive air of sensuality everywhere:
Neon lights mostly in ambiguous shades of pink, enormous provocative posters hanging from buildings, young women dressed in revealingly sexy outfits, and the frivolous smiles that refused to fade from the tourists' faces.
People immersed themselves in pleasure, intoxicated themselves with desire, sought shallow sensory stimulation, and forgot the way home amid the feast.
This feast seemed as though it would never end, until—
"Anti-pornography raid!"
"Room inspection!"
"Hands on your heads and squat down!"
A thunderous roar suddenly rang out from the sky.
"Huh?"
The guests walking through the streets in small groups, beautiful girls still in their arms, were stunned.
"Anti-pornography raid? What does that mean?"
They could not understand the meaning of those words. The only part they understood was "squat down."
But the Pleasure District was an upscale establishment, and those who came here for amusement were wealthy magnates, nobles from across the New World, notorious pirate captains, and underworld bosses. Every one of them had an impressive background.
"What the hell is this?"
A chaotic chorus of contemptuous and angry shouts rose from the crowd.
