"Help!"
Teach had been beaten so badly that he was crying for help.
He had never been much of a man of principle, and he valued his own life dearly. Calling for help from his mortal enemy was not something he was incapable of doing.
Moreover, beneath those crushing bear-paw strikes, Teach was even beginning to feel terrified to the point of despair:
Ace was still unconscious, and everyone present now was Garen's subordinate.
If Garen simply stood by and let Bell keep chasing him down, Garen could use the World Government's hands to get rid of him in a perfectly justified manner.
By then, he would not even get to be a good man. He could only become a martyr.
And Garen could even use his death to conveniently pull Whitebeard, grieving over the loss of his son, onto his chariot against the World Government. It was simply killing two birds with one stone.
It's over. It's over.
Judging Garen by his own standards, Teach felt certain that Garen would do exactly that.
However, although Garen had plenty of underhanded tricks, his moral standards had not fallen to Teach's level.
Since Garen had acknowledged Teach as his teammate, he would not do something as despicable as stabbing a teammate in the back.
Just as Teach was about to be struck by another bear paw, Garen finally made his move:
"Fatal Strike!"
The greatsword came crashing straight down, striking the giant bear Bell squarely in the back. His mountain-like body shuddered violently.
Garen's full-force sword strike was not easy to bear, even for Bell in Sulong form.
The giant paw swinging toward Teach paused slightly, finally giving Teach a chance to catch his breath.
Teach twisted his battered dragon body off the ground, then hurriedly fled into the distance again.
