• Garen exposed Doflamingo’s schemes, helped Monet and Sugar, and used Sugar’s power to restore the people of Dressrosa to their memories and former lives.
• Garen and his allies attacked the Royal Capital, destroying most of Doflamingo and Jack’s forces before confronting them.
• Garen killed Jack, defeated Pica, and learned that Doflamingo had escaped Dressrosa with Trebol.

Garen confronted Tezoro, secured a massive loan, and learned that Doflamingo had sought Big Mom’s protection. At Big Mom’s wedding, Garen helped trigger a battle, killed Big Mom, and finally executed Doflamingo.

• Buggy accepted Tezoro’s payment to protect him, but Garen defeated Tezoro, forced him to lend 200 billion Beli, and secured Kalifa’s cooperation after CP0 arrived.
• Doflamingo sought Big Mom’s protection and agreed to marry her, while Garen later negotiated a deal to kill him after the wedding.
• Garen attended Big Mom’s wedding, allied with CP0 against Doflamingo, and watched Shiryu’s group’s Jade Box explode when Big Mom opened it.
• Shiryu’s group fought the Big Mom Pirates as CP0 pursued Doflamingo, and Garen lured Big Mom away by promising her cake before piercing her with his greatsword.
• Garen and Golden Lion lifted the battlefield into the sky and attacked Big Mom, while Garen used biscuit giants to overwhelm her crew and kill Perospero.

Garen took control of Totto Land, recruited Zephyr, and intervened in the clash between Whitebeard and the Marines. After Whitebeard named him the world’s strongest man, Garen manipulated Teach, drew pirates into a tournament, and left Issho listening to Koala’s account of his reforms.

• Garen killed Big Mom and Smoothie, then accepted Katakuri and the Charlotte Family’s surrender and began annexing Totto Land.
• Smoker and Tashigi met Thatch while helping a village, but Zephyr captured them and led the NEO Marines in an attack on a volcanic island.
• Garen saved Zephyr and the island from the eruption, defeated Akainu’s forces, and persuaded Zephyr to join him.
• Whitebeard’s crew defeated Akainu’s Marines to rescue Thatch, but Garen intervened before Whitebeard could kill Akainu and challenged Whitebeard to a duel.
• Garen defeated Whitebeard in their duel and was declared the world’s strongest man, then arranged for Reiju to gain the Dark-Dark Fruit’s power.
• Garen tricked Teach into eating an artificial Azure Dragon Fruit disguised as the Dark-Dark Fruit, leaving Teach trapped in dragon form.
• The Five Elders established a new surveillance bureau within the Navy, while Garen planned a tournament advertised with fake Logia Rumble-Rumble Fruits to draw in pirates.

After allying with the Revolutionary Army to rescue workers from the Beasts Pirates, Garen fought Kaido and staged Golden Lion’s defection, leaving the World Government and Kaido allied against him while Golden Lion recruited Impel Down escapees.

• Issho suspected the tournament was dangerous, and Garen’s forces exposed Tezoro’s use of Sugar and Brulee to capture contestants in the Mirror World.
• Mihawk recognized Garen as the Unforgiven Yasuo, dueled him, and named him the World’s Greatest Swordsman before Garen confronted Issho over his methods.
• Garen showed Issho the pirates’ crimes and executed Weevil and Miss Bakkin, convincing Issho to join him.
• Garen sent Issho to Marineford as an undercover agent, where Issho became Admiral Fujitora and revealed their connection through Garen’s revolutionary signal.
• Dragon approved an alliance with Garen against Kaido after Sabo urged the Revolutionary Army to help the workers of Kafoor.
• Garen rescued Kafoor’s workers, then fought Kaido by detonating a Dyna Stone inside him and attacking him with a sword and successive techniques.
