"Let me correct you on one point. You're not some nobody. Aren't you quite famous in the mercenary world?" Higashino Kanade looked at him approvingly.
Shishigou Kairi was a well-known Mage Killer. He was famous among mercenaries for his astonishing mission completion rate and solid reputation. In the chaotic, disorderly mercenary world, there were not many mercenaries as plain and dependable as him.
Of course, Higashino Kanade had no interest in the mercenary world. He rarely had any need for mercenaries. He knew Shishigou Kairi from an anime in his first life. Shishigou Kairi and Little Mo were one of the few pairings in F/A that Higashino Kanade actually liked. Higashide, that old bastard, really wrote stories that were hard to put into words.
"You're different from what I imagined. Rumor says you're a vicious, scheming madman who loves battle and slaughter and wants to destroy the world. Even the image you portrayed in the autobiography you drew wasn't exactly positive. I had to work up a lot of courage before daring to come trade with you." Shishigou Kairi secretly sighed in relief. Higashino Kanade's approachable attitude greatly improved his impression of him and relieved much of the pressure.
"Master, didn't I have to drag you here?" Mordred suddenly cut in.
Shishigou Kairi's mouth twitched. He spread his hands helplessly. "Saber, I'm still your master for now. Could you please stop undermining me?"
"Though I was prepared for it, I didn't expect my reputation in the magecraft world to be this rotten. Rumors really are unreliable things."
Higashino Kanade muttered, then continued, "Mr. Shishigou, my current image does differ quite a bit from the one in my manga. People change, don't they? If you spend some time with me, you'll discover that I'm actually very easy to get along with."
