But having an adorable little girl massage him was spiritually enjoyable enough.
"Is that enough?"
"It's only been a little while. Keep going a bit longer."
"My hands are sore."
"Hang in there, it'll be over soon." Half an hour later.
Wayne finally let go of the utterly exhausted Hermione and handed her one of each type of quill. "Bastard."
With the goods in hand, Hermione angrily bit Wayne on the shoulder. Only after seeing him grimace in pain did she smugly release her little teeth.
"Let's see if you dare order me around again."
"Miss Granger, that's repaying kindness with hostility." Wayne rubbed his shoulder. Hermione really did have sharp teeth. It actually hurt a little!
"What are you talking about? I don't understand."
Quickly stuffing the quills into her pocket, Hermione gathered up her homework and skipped out of the classroom.
"I'm going back to put my books away. Meet at the castle gates in a bit!"
"One day, you'll fall into my hands."
Wayne muttered as he watched the little witch's retreating back.
At exactly two o'clock, the two arrived at Hagrid's Hut on time, only to discover that they were not the only guests.
Harry and Ron were there too.
Their injuries had yet to heal. One of Ron's eyes was swollen while the other was not, Harry had black eyes, and there was still a cut at the corner of his mouth.
Hermione had been busy with the map lately, as well as her homework, and had long since forgotten that Harry was going to duel Malfoy.
Only when she saw them battered and bruised did she remember, and she said furiously, "You really went to duel Malfoy!"
"If you got caught, how many points would Gryffindor lose? Professor McGonagall would be furious!"
The more Hermione spoke, the angrier she became, until Ron could not help muttering,
"We didn't get caught, did we? Besides, Malfoy went too. If we didn't go, who knows how he'd have mocked Gryffindor afterward."
He was loyal enough not to reveal that they had run into Wayne the previous night. Hermione wanted to say more, but Hagrid hurriedly stepped in to smooth things over.
"All right, since no one found out, just let it go. The Malfoy family has always been awful. Ron, you should know that better than anyone."
"That's right." Ron nodded in agreement.
For some reason, whenever they went to Diagon Alley, they ran into the Malfoys. His father and old Malfoy often fought, and the two could not stand each other.
Just like Harry and Malfoy.
After Hagrid's interruption, Hermione could not really say anything else. She could only take a gloomy sip of tea.
At that moment, Hagrid handed Wayne a bulging snakeskin sack, much larger than the last one.
"Wayne, take a look and see if everything's there. If anything's missing, just tell me." Wayne did not stand on ceremony. He opened it and checked. Most of it was animal fur and hide, along with several bottles of coagulating liquid.
The most valuable item was Acromantula venom. Hagrid had actually given him a full pint.
"That's more than enough. Thank you, Hagrid."
The Half-Giant scratched his head awkwardly. "No need to be polite. Um..."
Wayne knew what he wanted. With a thought, he summoned Ho-Oh. As she appeared, the temperature inside the hut rose considerably. Hagrid trembled with excitement and wanted to touch her, but Ho-Oh dodged away disdainfully and landed on Hermione's shoulder.
She was still angry at her master. She had no intention of cuddling up to Wayne.
Harry and Ron were also studying Ho-Oh.
"So this is your Phoenix?" Ron said excitedly.
"Yeah. Her name is Ho-Oh."
"She's beautiful..." Harry nodded in agreement. 1.0
Hermione shot Wayne a smug glance, then took two basil leaves from her pocket. They were leftovers from Herbology, and she had deliberately saved them until now. Ho-Oh disliked such a cramped space. After staying a while, Wayne took out some Dittany, and bird and master made up. She affectionately rubbed her cheek against his before leaving.
She had stayed for less than fifteen minutes in total.
But that was enough to satisfy Hagrid greatly. He enthusiastically brought out cakes and sweets for everyone.
And, of course, his signature Rock Cakes.
The group unanimously ignored the cakes and focused on the sweets and pastries.
Though the chocolate cake was too sweet, compared to tooth-shattering Rock Cakes, it was infinitely better.
While chatting, Harry and Ron also tacitly avoided mentioning what they had seen the night before.
To the two of them, Hermione was terrifying. If she found out that they had not only dueled Malfoy but also entered the forbidden area Dumbledore had designated, they would get no peace today.
Watching Wayne eat a Rock Cake with obvious enjoyment, Harry felt numb. "Wayne, are your teeth made of iron? You can actually bite through something this hard?"
While Hagrid went to heat more tea, Harry stared at Wayne in astonishment. Wayne was holding a piece of cake and eating it with relish.
"I used a Softening Charm."
Wayne said matter-of-factly, "Want to try it? It's actually pretty good."
As he spoke, he lightly tapped the cake, and its crust immediately became much softer and chewier.
Harry: "..."
Sure enough, I'm useless.
He could not help picking up a piece and taking a bite. "It really is good."
"By the way, I've invented some new little things. Want to buy them?"
"What are they?" Harry was interested.
Under Hermione's nearly murderous glare, Wayne took out the Plagiarism Quill!
"4"
The Heir to Three Fortunes, Harry Gives Snape Shampoo
Once Harry understood what the various quills did, his eyes lit up. Without hesitation, he bought the Copying Quill and the Nonsense Quill.
As before, he bought two of each. What was the worst thing about writing essays?
Wasn't it figuring out how to turn one useful sentence in your head into an entire article?
These quills were a tremendous help.
Wayne did not sell them for much, just two Galleons each. Harry did not even blink as he took out eight Galleons and completed the transaction.
Ron, standing beside them, was about to turn red with envy.
Like Harry, he was not a terrible student, but he was only average. What he hated most was having to do homework every day after class.
With those two quills, how much time could he save for playing Wizard's Chess? Unfortunately, Ron was poor. His family only gave him a little over a dozen Sickles for an entire term. Even the map was something he mooched off Harry, let alone the quills.
Harry noticed his friend's predicament too and said quietly, "You don't need to buy them. You can borrow mine when the time comes."
"Thanks," Ron said gratefully. Wayne was more than happy to see it.
Quills were stationery that wore out easily. Usually, a little wizard needed at least ten quills a term.
If two people used them, they would wear out even faster. Harry would have to come back to buy more from him.
As for whether Harry could afford it, Wayne was not worried in the slightest.
Besides the title of Boy Who Lived, Harry would have another equally resounding title in the future.
Heir to Three Fortunes!
The Potter family was an ancient family. There was plenty of money in its vault, though still within normal limits.
After Sirius Black died, the Black family inheritance would be Harry's too. It was one of the most deeply established of the Sacred Twenty-Eight, even wealthier than the Malfoy family.
The fact that Sirius could give away a Firebolt without blinking showed just how rich he was.
Then there was Snape. Though Snape currently could not stand Harry, Harry was Lily's child.
Snape's inheritance would eventually go to Harry too.
How much wealth could a Potions Master have? That went without saying. After collecting three enormous inheritances like that, Harry would definitely become one of the Wizarding World's richest men.
Harry happily told stories about interesting things that had happened during Quidditch training, completely unaware that Wayne had already set his sights on him as a fat sheep.
"George and Fred are driving Wood mad. They're like two human Bludgers, never doing anything useful..."
Hermione did not understand Quidditch, but she still said seriously,
"Harry, you have to win the House Cup. We're far behind the other Houses in points."
Winning the Quidditch House Cup would give their House one hundred and fifty points. That was what Hermione cared about.
Harry's face fell. "I'll try. I'm only a first-year, after all..." Then he immediately became furious again. "It's all Snape's fault. I have no idea how I offended him. He watches me every day just to deduct points."
Hagrid's cheerful expression became a little unnatural. "Harry, Snape is still your professor. You should show him the necessary respect."
"I'm telling the truth!" Harry said stubbornly. "He deducted a full thirty points from me in Potions last week!"
Harry turned to Wayne and complained, "Wayne, the method you taught me didn't work either. I kept my head down and didn't look at him, but Snape seemed even angrier."
"What exactly happened? Tell me." Wayne perked up. Harry grimaced and gave him a rough account.
Originally, Snape found fault with him in every class. Whenever Harry glared at him indignantly, Snape would sneer at him a few times, and that would be that.
During the last Potions class, Harry suddenly remembered Wayne's advice.
So no matter how Snape picked at him, he obediently kept his head down and brewed his potion. In the end, Snape deducted twenty points for disrespecting a professor, then deducted another ten from Neville.
After hearing it, Wayne nearly laughed himself sick, though he kept a thoughtful expression on his face.
Of course. The thing Snape treasured most about you was those eyes exactly like Lily's. If you refused to look at him, how could he not get angry?
"This is difficult, Harry." Wayne smacked his lips. "It looks like Snape really does have a problem with you."
"How about this? Give him a gift at Christmas to ease the relationship. You'll have Potions through at least fifth year, after all."
Harry thought that made sense. "Then what should I give him?"
"How about shampoo?"
Wayne offered his suggestion. "Look at that greasy hair of his. He must not have washed it in ages. Shampoo would be perfect."
"Would that work?" Harry asked suspiciously. "He's a professor. It's not like he can't afford shampoo."
"He's a Potions Master. It's normal for him not to care about little things." Wayne laughed it off. "Maybe he forgot, or maybe he's too lazy to buy it."
"Just get him the best kind, the oldest brand."
"When Snape sees how sincere you are, he might not take care of you, but he probably won't keep making trouble for you either."
Hagrid opened his mouth.
The best shampoo in the Wizarding World... That was Potter Shampoo.
It was the product the Potter family had built its fortune on. However, Harry's grandfather had sold the shampoo formula in exchange for a large sum of gold.
It had nothing to do with them anymore.
Hagrid scratched his head. Something felt strange, but he could not say what was wrong.
Since he could not figure it out, he stopped thinking about it.
Wayne was Harry's friend, and he was a kind, reliable Hufflepuff. How could he possibly trick his friend?
Hagrid cheerfully went to bring over freshly baked biscuits and more hot tea.
An hour later, the young wizards walked out of the hut, rubbing their stuffed stomachs.
"We won't need dinner after this." Ron yawned. "Harry, want to play some Wizard's Chess? One piece of candy wrapper per game."
"Sure."
The two said goodbye to Wayne and left.
They were not particularly close to Hermione, especially Ron, who thought Hermione was too rigid and meddlesome.
Girls often matured mentally earlier than boys, and puberty came earlier too. Hermione did not like those two mischievous classmates either.
She thought they were too childish.
"Going back to the castle?" Wayne asked.
Hermione thought for a moment. "Let's take a walk. I ate a little too much too. I should get some exercise."
Wayne had no objection.
The two strolled slowly along Black Lake. The water glittered in the light, and the autumn wind sent ripples across its surface. Fish occasionally leaped from the water, only to be swallowed whole by Grindylows.
A gust of wind passed by. Wayne was fine, since his robes had a Temperature-Control Charm on them, but Hermione pulled her clothes tighter around herself.
With October approaching, temperatures in the Scottish Highlands had already fallen below ten degrees. Wayne thoughtfully cast a Temperature-Control Charm on Hermione, and the little witch instantly felt much better.
"Wayne, how do you know so many spells?"
"Study more, practice more, and you'll learn them," Wayne said easily. Hermione quietly pursed her lips.
