"I think you've misunderstood." Wayne shook his head. "I only meant to say—" "For Hagrid's sake, get lost now, and I might spare you and your children."
"Oh?
Aragog was so furious that he laughed instead. "Does Hogwarts now offer classes on teaching people to brag?"
"I'd like to see how you plan to spare us!"
All the Acromantulas began clicking as they closed in. The horrifying scene was enough to scare anyone with trypophobia to death.
Green light gleamed from the eyes of more than a thousand Acromantulas. It was the hunger of predators eyeing their food. "Venom, antennae, spider legs, even their venom sacs."
Wayne raised his wand and suddenly laughed. "I've just realized that Acromantulas are valuable from head to toe."
Hearing Wayne's assessment, Aragog's voice turned icy. "Kill him!"
A spray of countless strands shot from the Acromantulas' mouths. The webs were extremely sticky, and once caught, escaping would be incredibly difficult.
Webs were the most effective means of hunting for a spider!
"Firestorm!"
Scorching fireballs emerged from the tip of his wand, rapidly swelling before exploding with a bang.
A ring of fire spread outward from Wayne in every direction. Every strand of web that touched the flames was burned to ash.
The Acromantulas at the front shrieked miserably when they touched the flames, and soon the smell of charred flesh filled the air.
Instead of frightening the spiders behind them away, this only made them more ferocious. Spiders were ruthless hunters that would not even spare the corpses of their own kind. Wayne was actually helping them make provisions.
Ugh!
The webs had lost their effectiveness against the flames, but they still had venom.
The highly corrosive venom hissed when it struck the ground, while poisonous smoke spread through the air.
Wayne cast Aegis Shield over himself, then glanced at the Unicorns beneath Ho-Oh's protection.
With Ho-Oh there, the poison could not affect them. Wayne pointed with one finger and softly said, "Thunder!"
Crack!
The wrath of lightning descended from the sky, bombarding the Acromantulas' bodies. Some of it clung to the surface of the flames, creating a spectacle of fire and lightning.
Wayne had even given this combination spell a name: Thunderfire Sword!
With his shield raised and his wand in hand, Wayne charged into the spider swarm. "Bone Breaker!" "Thunderclap Explosion!" "Petrificus Totalus!" "Lightning Strike!"
Brilliantly colored spells erupted from the tip of Wayne's wand. Thunder roared as Acromantulas collapsed in waves amid their horrified screams.
With Dynamic Perception, even in the darkness, neither webs nor venom could hit Wayne.
"Damn it, why is a little wizard so strong?!"
Aragog retreated while cursing. "Stop! Stop at once!"
"We'll leave you and the Unicorns alone! Stop!"
Aragog's heart was bleeding. These spiders were his children. Although he had tens of thousands of children in his lifetime, watching a little wizard slaughter his descendants in front of him still made his heart bleed.
"You still don't understand the situation, Aragog." Wayne cast another Explosion Charm, blasting a deep crater into the ground and leaving the nearby spiders without a trace. He sneered,
"This isn't about you sparing me. It's about whether I spare you!"
A massive net formed from electric arcs descended, its blue light illuminating the nearby night sky. The spiders that touched the Lightning Net were dismembered by the powerful current, their bodies scattered across the ground.
Their hard shells and sticky webs were completely useless against the Lightning Net.
"I surrender! Little wizard, what will it take for you to let us go?" Aragog begged through the pain. He had not completely escaped the net's range and had lost one of his legs.
"Wuu~!"
"Wuu~!"
Amid the battlefield of slaughter, the whimpering of a young beast was especially distinct.
Wayne's advance slowed slightly. He turned around and saw a newborn Unicorn lying before its mother and suckling.
The Unicorn mother affectionately rubbed against her little one.
Seeing the tender scene, the killing intent in Wayne's heart suddenly subsided considerably. Aragog was old and cunning, and he sensed that Wayne's emotions had weakened. He hurriedly pressed his advantage.
"Little wizard, this was all my fault, but you've already killed so many of my descendants."
"For Hagrid's sake, let us go. If you come to the Forbidden Forest again, we absolutely won't cause you trouble."
"We won't seek revenge against the Unicorns either."
In just a few minutes, hundreds of Acromantulas had died. They had not even touched a single hair on Wayne's body.
Aragog had no doubt that if this little wizard were given enough time, not one spider here would escape.
"That's it?" Wayne disdainfully picked at his ear. "You wanted to eat me because I looked young, but now that you can't afford to provoke me, you want to run."
"There's no such good thing in this world."
He snapped his fingers, and another bolt of lightning struck down, blasting the nearby spiders to death. Then he reached out and grabbed, causing a Lightning Net even larger than the previous one to cover the entire area.
Although the gaps between its strands were wider, an Acromantula trying to pass through would at least lose a limb or two.
As for a creature Aragog's size, being cut into eighty or a hundred pieces would be no problem.
"What exactly do you want?"
Wayne walked toward the Unicorns. Wherever he passed, the spiders that could still move fled desperately.
Legend said that Unicorns only allowed pure maidens to approach and touch them. Wayne was, without a doubt, a complete pervert.
But Wayne possessed the Animal Affinity talent, and he had just protected the two Unicorns. The Unicorn mother did not object to his approach at all, even letting out an affectionate cry.
Seeing the little one eating so happily, Wayne smiled and stroked its still-damp body.
To be honest, newborn beasts were not particularly attractive. But once its fur grew in, it should become adorable.
Only after finishing all this did he rise leisurely and look toward the Acromantulas.
"Even for Hagrid's sake, staying alive comes at a price."
With that, he used Transfiguration to turn a broken tree beside him into a one-meter-tall barrel half a meter in diameter.
"Fill this barrel with your venom, and you can leave."
"How much?!"
Aragog could hardly believe his ears. Are you bloody insane?!
Acromantula venom was the essence of their entire bodies. It was not saliva that they could spit out as much as they pleased.
"You have no right to bargain."
Wayne pointed again. The vines on the ground suddenly whipped through the air, tightly binding Aragog's body and dragging him into the air.
No matter how he struggled, he could not break free.
"If you don't fill this barrel today, I'll personally remove your venom sac and take it myself."
"Figure it out yourself."
After saying that, Wayne dispelled the Lightning Net.
He was not afraid that the other Acromantulas would take the opportunity to flee. As long as Aragog was under his control, the spiders would not have the courage.
Controlling an Acromantula of such a size consumed a great deal of magic. On top of that, he still had to maintain Aegis Shield, so Wayne naturally wanted to conserve his strength wherever possible.
"I agree."
"But you can't go back on your word. Once this barrel is full, you'll let me and my children go."
Feeling the killing intent rising from Wayne once more, Aragog finally submitted.
The older one became, the more one feared death. Spiders were the same.
Aragog had lived for fifty years. His eyes were already afflicted with severe cataracts, but he had not lived enough. He wanted to reach the end of his natural life, not die at the hands of this little wizard.
"I'm a Hufflepuff. How could I possibly deceive you?" Wayne said without batting an eye.
Aragog was dumbfounded.
He had thought that such a vicious little wizard, even if he was not a Slytherin, should at least be one of those reckless Gryffindors.
He was actually a Hufflepuff?
Does your Head of House know how vicious you are?
With strength on the other side, Aragog could only place his hopes in Hufflepuff's reputation.
He let out a string of strange cries, and the other Acromantulas began to move. A bizarre scene unfolded.
Hundreds and thousands of Acromantulas formed two orderly lines. One after another, they climbed onto the barrel, squeezed out their venom, dropped down weakly, then slowly crawled away to make room for the spiders behind them.
Losing their venom was practically the same as losing their essence. Of course they were exhausted.
Wayne's lips curled upward.
Acromantula venom was absolutely one of the most expensive materials in the Wizarding World.
A pint, approximately 550 milliliters, sold for as much as one hundred Galleons, and it was often impossible to buy even at that price.
It was not only an essential ingredient for high-level Potions such as Liquid Luck and Draught of Living Death, but could also be added to many other potions as a catalyst to further improve their quality.
Even Snape only had one jar of this precious substance. The moment Wayne looked at it twice, Snape had put it away as if guarding against a thief.
What a cheapskate.
Wayne's large barrel could hold at least thirty to fifty pints. For at least a year or two, he would not have to worry about running out of Acromantula venom.
And once he used it all up—
The Forbidden Forest belonged to Hogwarts. As a flower of the school and its future successor, was it not perfectly reasonable for him to collect a protection fee?
The Acromantulas obediently squeezed out their venom, so Wayne did not pay them much attention. Instead, he focused on the Unicorns.
After eating and drinking their fill, the little Unicorn had obediently fallen asleep.
Besides its naturally beautiful appearance, a Unicorn also carried an aura of holiness that made Wayne feel extremely comfortable.
The Unicorn was equally affectionate toward him, repeatedly rubbing its large head against him. As he stroked the Unicorn mother's smooth fur, Wayne guessed that this might also be related to his Innate Holy Spirit talent.
The wooden barrel was already half full, but there were not many spiders left. Hanging from the tree, Aragog kept calling out and ordering the other Acromantulas to squeeze out more.
The remaining amount would have to be made up by him!
Rustle!
Rustle!
The forest had just returned to peace when trouble arose again. A sudden sound of hoofbeats came from the darkness in the distance, and Wayne warily activated Dynamic Perception.
"Hunter! Get out of this land!" The voice arrived before its owner.
A deep, powerful roar came with the sound of hoofbeats. Ho-Oh angrily tried to rise into the sky, but Wayne soothed it and brought it back down.
Soon, more than a dozen Centaurs leaped over the bushes and landed before Wayne. There were both men and women among them. They were extremely tall, each holding a bow and arrow, and all looked imposing.
But when they saw the spider corpses covering the ground, the scorched earth, and the remaining Acromantulas lining up to squeeze out their venom, they were all stunned.
Then they noticed Wayne and the Unicorns beside him, and immediately raised their bows and aimed at him.
"Hunter, release the Unicorn!"
Wayne was speechless. "Are you blind? Have you ever seen a hunter this small?"
"And don't you recognize this school uniform?"
Although he was considered fairly tall among first-year students, he was still only a child. He was not even 1.7 meters tall!
"Wizards are cunning. Who knows whether you used a Polyjuice Potion and transformed into a little wizard to sneak in, you dark wizard?"
The Centaur leader remained wary. He swept his eyes around the scene, and the sight of corpses strewn everywhere made the veins in his hands stand out. He said coldly,
"If you want to hunt Acromantulas, I won't interfere. But you must hand over the Unicorns."
Aragog, who had been hoping the two sides would fight, nearly vomited blood from anger. What do you mean? So our spiders just deserve to die? Do ugly creatures have no rights?
"You think you're entitled to that?" Wayne's expression suddenly turned cold. "Do I need your permission to do anything?"
"Put those bows down!"
Wayne was usually very amiable toward his classmates. He joked around and got along well with everyone.
But that was because they were all classmates. When others spoke to him politely, he naturally treated them with courtesy.
This, however, was merely a product of Wayne's upbringing. His system was the Chaos King System. Therefore, he was also a demon king!
Now a group of Centaurs who were not even human still pointed their bows at him after he had explained his identity.
That had already touched Wayne's fury.
Dark thunderclouds once again gathered across the sky, and the air became oppressively tense.
The dozen or so Centaurs shifted and stamped their hooves uneasily, but their bows remained aimed at Wayne without the slightest movement.
"Release the Unicorns and leave this forest. This is not a place you should come!" The same Centaur leader continued to warn him.
As his voice fell, the bowstring was drawn taut.
