"Huh?" After the meeting, Anton went downstairs at the Magical Research Institute, casually pulled a book off the shelf, and read a few pages. Suddenly, his eyes lit up.
The book was titled The Magic of Moonlight Grass.
Moonlight Grass was an extremely common Fantastic Plant. It was often used as an herb in Potions, as a magical material in Ritual Magic, and as one of the most common auxiliary materials in Alchemy.
Anton had never seen a magical book like this before. It gathered every piece of information about Moonlight Grass from the history of wizardkind into a single volume, organizing it according to some kind of pattern.
There was even a chapter about using Moonlight Grass in food.
This kind of compilation was obviously useful. The book's final volume explained how, after gathering so much information, one could collate and analyze it to uncover some of Moonlight Grass's deeper magical properties.
He flipped through it, then looked in surprise at Professor Snape beside him. "You've never recommended this one to me before. It looks incredibly practical!"
Back when Snape had tutored Anton in Potions, he had eventually gained a werewolf assistant. After that, he mostly just gave Anton reading lists and sent him off to the School Library to read and write papers on his own.
If Anton had known about this book earlier, he would definitely have recommended it to Neville. Neville had been studying the properties of Fantastic Plants for ages, and this book would obviously give him plenty of new ideas.
"This isn't a book from the School Library."
Snape glanced at the students who had stayed behind at school, including Fane, then beckoned Anton to follow him out of the Magical Research Institute.
During the holidays, the school had a special kind of stillness.
