As in my previous approach, each volume took a different kind of magic as its theme. The magic in this volume was Fate.
Saving Fate for the final volume echoed the struggle between "Wizards as Gods" and "Fate, that little bitch," which I introduced at the beginning of the novel.
Anton had fought this battle between the Individual Mind and Fate. So it was only natural that the changes he hoped to bring to the world would inspire the familiar characters from the original story to fight against their own fates.
And it all began with "Wizards as Gods."
The strength to fight against Fate should come from within every intelligent being, not be something Anton himself had to drive forward.
But there were so many characters in the original story. Trying to give all the important ones a proper conclusion would have made the story feel scattered, like every branch of a Great Tree bursting into bloom. So I spent a long time thinking about it, then decided to use the "brilliant Sea of Stars" as a thread to tie everything together, with Anton giving it a strong push.
I think this approach did justice to both the "very magical magic" and the "very magical story" I wanted to tell.
I wonder if you all liked it?
And with that, the story comes to an end.
If I wanted to keep going and still come up with something fresh, I'd probably have to write about clashes between different civilizations, like many Wizard stories do in their later arcs. Or I could write about humanity exploring Interstellar civilization, the sparks that fly when science and Magic collide, and everyday life. Then I could expand into the Warhammer universe.
But by then, it wouldn't really be Harry Potter fanfiction anymore.
