These Leaf Cats no longer seemed interested in toying with him. Every one of them opened its enormous jaws and slowly stalked toward him.

Ron could even feel it. Perhaps because it was getting late and the sky was darkening, as the Leaf Cats closed in, the forest behind them was gradually growing darker too.

It was as if the entire world were closing in on him.

He was like a pitiful little flame, swaying in the cold wind, liable to be snuffed out by a single falling leaf at any moment.

The Leaf Cat's teeth sank into his shoulder muscle. It suddenly dropped its weight, its hind legs raking wildly across his chest with vicious claws while its front paws tore at his back and neck, trying to dig into his flesh.
