Anton stared strangely at the girl, then glanced at Old Wizard Fiennes. Frowning, he asked in confusion, "Do you remember Auroro?"
The Old Wizard fell silent. He nodded and let out a deep sigh. "Of course..."
"Um..." He scratched his head in confusion.
He looked up at Anton. "I seem to have forgotten what she looked like."
As he spoke, he walked over to the fireplace, drew his wand, and tapped the relief above it. He rummaged through the pile of clutter within the relief before finally pulling out a book.
"Great Alex Fiennes's Apprenticeship Journey"
It was the diary he had kept after becoming Pedro the Goblin's Apprentice. Anton had returned it to this Teacher after reading it.
The Old Wizard silently flipped through the diary in his hands, muttering, "I don't remember the first part of my time as that stupid Pedro the Goblin's Apprentice, but that was because of Time Magic..."
"But I should still remember the period after I started writing this diary, right?"
He looked up at Anton wistfully. "Perhaps my time as a ghost wore away at me, and I lost some of my memories. The memories that weren't so important would be the first to fade..."
Anton's eye twitched. "Memories that weren't so important?"
The Old Wizard nodded and flipped through the diary again. His expression turned certain. "Although I told you that when I became a ghost, I sensed that my memories were like a long, endless list."
He raised a hand and made a curling gesture. "But from another perspective, that list should be rolled up. Emotions and will run through it all, overlapping and intertwining. It should look like..."
He considered how to describe it, then said uncertainly, "It should look like a ball."
