Since he and Anna were already using the Time-Turner, Anton took her sightseeing through time.
Anna was clearly more at home with time travel than Anton. She seemed to love it. Before long, she took charge, snatched the Time-Turner, and dragged him into his own era.
They passed themselves off as foreigners and even shared a hotpot meal.
They wandered and ate their way through time. Anna grew much livelier, chattering away as though she would never run out of things to say.
Anton stood beside her, smiling as he listened.
Magic really could be wonderful sometimes, couldn't it?
He had crossed into another world, yet he had the chance to return to his original one and take a proper look at sights he had never found time to appreciate in his previous life.
But this was not a world. It was only a stretch of time.
It was never going to be real.
Neither of them lingered. After camping out and barbecuing, with mosquitoes buzzing around them, they returned to their real time.
