Extra: Anton's Study Notes (One Page)

As the study of magic advanced to a higher realm, we found many fascinating fields of magic opening up before us.

They seemed unfathomably mysterious, yet so deeply connected to us.

Magic was the power of the mind.

It did not come from nowhere.

During the second half of my third year, I came into contact with many wondrous forms of magic.

Dumbledore's Human Heart Magic explored the magic between people and nature, and between people and the world. The human heart could encompass the whole world and society at large, or shrink until it contained only oneself.

Grindelwald's Fate Magic, Professor Voldemort's Self Magic, Pedro's Time Magic, Professor Sprout's Fated Magic, Professor Snape's Emotions Magic...

These forms of magic were more than just magic. They flowed from the hearts of intelligent beings, accompanying us in every action. Magic merely magnified the traces our hearts left as they moved through the world.

Interestingly, we found that relationships between people also seemed to resonate with magic.

Perhaps that was the wonder of one heart connecting with another.

For example:

Dumbledore and Grindelwald: the struggle and compromise between the human heart and fate

Dumbledore and Voldemort: society's unconscious disregard, cruelty, and manipulation of the individual

Pedro and Fiennes: whether you understand time or not, you are still at its mercy

Dumbledore and Anton: an individual with no wants or desires can avoid being crushed by society, but ultimately cannot escape being drawn into its schemes

Grindelwald and Anton: understand what I want, and fate cannot bind me

Fiennes and Anton: sometimes, the hardships we suffer may be the consequences of the malice we showed in the past

Voldemort and Anton: even the most forceful leader can sometimes be utterly helpless in the face of a subordinate who refuses to do
