After Anton left the school office, Dumbledore and the others continued their meeting. Harry and Fiennes left with him.
Harry was holding the huge glass tank containing the Runespoor, still rather bewildered. After everything that had happened, Dumbledore had actually agreed to let him take the snake home and keep it. He couldn't make heads or tails of it.
Before they left, Professor McGonagall had warned him not to keep the Runespoor in the Dormitory, so he needed to talk it over with Ron and Hermione and see if they could keep it in the Secret Base.
After all, before they'd come, Ron had been complaining to him that Runespoors were the favorite pets of Dark Wizards.
Harry had been puzzled at the time. He'd spoken to all three of the Runespoor's heads and knew they were just ordinary snakes. They didn't have any particularly evil abilities.
Ron had only muttered something about how having three heads was evil enough.
Hermione, on the other hand, had been understanding. She thought a Runespoor was the best pet Heaven could have given a Parselmouth. With one, Harry wouldn't feel so lonely during the holidays.
That alone was enough to win Harry over.

Watching Harry's retreating figure, Old Wizard Fiennes suddenly said this to Anton.
Anton paused. "Why?"
Fiennes didn't answer. He simply led Anton to his office. After closing the door and casting a spell inside, he invited Anton to try the Apple-Flavored Soda he'd gotten from the Muggle World.
