The elevator soon reached the Ministry of Magic's second basement level.

This floor housed the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, which contained two powerful organizations: the Wizengamot Administration Office and Auror Command.

It also held a large number of offices whose authority was unclear but whose status was equally high.

For example, the Misuse of Muggle Artefacts Office, headed by Arthur Weasley; the Improper Use of Magic Office, headed by Dolores Umbridge; and the Animagus Office, where Anthony Weasley worked.

Of course, if you followed the corridor all the way to the back, you could also find a whole host of empty offices with signs on their doors.

One such office was the "Office for the Detection and Confiscation of Counterfeit Shield Charms and Protective Equipment."

Clearly, this wasn't a floor just anyone could visit. Or rather, few people would enjoy entering this gloomy level, which carried an indistinct air of cold, iron-fisted authority.

Voices spoken in this chilly, empty corridor even seemed to echo eerily, sending a shiver down your spine.
