Dumbledore's approach to magic leaned more toward the orthodox witchcraft of the Ancient Wizards. When it came to Transfiguration, he favored casting transformations on the outside world.
He was clearly less than enthusiastic about the change that was about to take place. But Professor McGonagall, Professor Sprout, Professor Flitwick, and the others—who were about to discuss how to arrange a new magical defense system for Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry—were all excitedly watching the stage. That was the only reason they hadn't immediately gone back to begin their important discussion.
Even Grindelwald was watching the stage intently. He was interested in the magic of Animagus Transformation, of course, but even more than that, he wanted to see Anton's astonishing trick of turning a person into a Magical Creature with nothing more than a light tap of his Wand.
After Anton had told him about those things, Grindelwald couldn't help giving a soft chuckle at the magical materials Anton was now arranging on the stage for the Ritual Magic.
"Young people love putting on a show and making a huge spectacle of things."
Dumbledore shrugged. "Loving the limelight is human nature. We all want to win more attention and applause."

Even the most powerful Wizards alive couldn't see through it, much less figure out what Anton was really doing.
Candles of every color, each as thick as a soda can, covered every corner of the stage. A winding channel ran around the outer edge, carrying a mixture of essential oil extracted from Mandrake leaves and Dew collected just before dawn. At the very center stood a huge Stone Cauldron, filled with thick, dark-green Potions bubbling away.
Several Magic Mirror cameras were aimed at the stage. Through the mirrors, people watched Anton's preparations closely, hoping to learn the Ritual Magic.
