Chiga fought Pakura, whose controlled Scorch Release fireballs countered his Flying Thunder God Technique and forced him into a losing close-combat battle. With most of his marked crows dead, Chiga had few places left to teleport.

Refusing to abandon the fight or his chance to capture White Zetsu, Chiga began a dangerous transformation to attack from the sky as Sasori launched an iron sand wave at him.

• Sasori of the Red Sands used the Third Kazekage's Iron Sand Sea to surround Chiga and wear down his Chakra, forcing Chiga to escape with the Flying Thunder God Technique.
