Chaos

"Rin..."

Kakashi softly called her name, his voice carrying a trace of barely perceptible tension and anticipation.

However, Rin showed no reaction to Kakashi's call. She did not even lift her head, as though she had not heard him at all.

Seeing this, Kakashi could not help frowning slightly. He felt somewhat disappointed, but after hesitating for a moment, he gathered his courage and continued:

"It's noon. Let's go eat."

Ever since Rin had been revived, she had always been the one to invite Kakashi out. Yet today, for the first time ever, Kakashi had taken the initiative to ask Rin to have lunch with him.

Unexpectedly, Rin still had her back to him. Only her hands, which had been organizing surgical instruments, paused for an instant.

Then Rin answered blandly:

"No. I'm eating with Chizuru later."

With that, she continued working as if nothing had happened.

Kakashi stood frozen in place, unsure how to respond.

"Rin... are you..."

Just as he was about to ask why she was being so cold, there came a crisp click, and the door was pushed open from outside.

A girl with a few cute freckles scattered across her face hurried inside. It was Chizuru.

Smiling brightly, she walked straight up to Rin and said cheerfully:

"Rin, let's go eat together."

At that, Rin immediately stopped what she was doing, turned, and walked over to the sink to wash her hands.

At the same time, her cold attitude toward Kakashi vanished as she smiled and replied to Chizuru:

"Sure. Let's go."

Then, without the slightest hesitation, she walked toward Chizuru. From beginning to end, she did not look at Kakashi again.

As Chizuru affectionately hooked her arm through Rin's and prepared to leave with her, she suddenly turned her head and glanced at Kakashi.
