Although Gaara was far inferior to the massive Shukaku in terms of the total amount of sand, when it came to speed and precise control over sand, Gaara still surpassed Shukaku.

The sand whip exploded deep inside Shukaku's brain, instantly turning into a cloud of sand shaped like a sea urchin.

And Shukaku was fine even after its head exploded.
