A Backup Plan

Inside Orochimaru's brightly lit laboratory.

"Orochimaru, come treat Hanabi's injuries." As Senyo carried Hanabi over, he immediately called out.

When Orochimaru came out and saw Hanabi's covered eyes, an unsurprised expression appeared on his face. "It went that smoothly?"

"It really was a coincidence this time." Senyo laid Hanabi on the hospital bed as he spoke.

"One of Black Zetsu's ocular techniques deprives its target of the five senses. I used my memory to thrust my sword out and pinned Hanabi to the ground."

"Black Zetsu had no choice but to gouge out her eyes and leave."

Orochimaru nodded and instructed Kabuto Yakushi nearby, "Go bring a pair of Byakugan."

Kabuto Yakushi bowed and withdrew.

Orochimaru then removed the bandages from Hanabi's face and began examining her eye sockets.

"Your backup plan won't be discovered, right?" Senyo asked again uneasily.

As Orochimaru cleaned Hanabi's wounds, he answered:

"Before Hanabi's eyes evolve, no one will be able to detect anything."

"Even after they evolve, my preparations will only take effect under certain conditions."

"Don't worry. I've already calculated everything."

Senyo was reassured by this. After all, Orochimaru was still very reliable.

At this point, Kabuto Yakushi had brought over a pair of Byakugan.

After taking them out, Orochimaru quickly implanted them into Hanabi.

"Black Zetsu was rather rough when he took her eyes. Hanabi was badly injured, and her eyes will probably need half a month to recover."

Hearing Orochimaru's words, Senyo responded, "In that case, will she notice that the Byakugan aren't her own?"

After leaving the finishing work to Kabuto Yakushi, Orochimaru replied:

"She won't notice, because these are also eyes from the Hyuga Main Family."

"The Hyuga Clan's use of the Byakugan differs from how you Uchiha use the Sharingan."
