Who Was Holding Whom Back

Land of Water.

The Raikage and his group were gathered around a bonfire. They had killed a bear and were now slowly roasting skewers of bear meat.

They had been chased all over the place lately, living off soldier pills until their faces had practically turned green.

Now that they finally had a chance to light a fire, they had to roast something to eat.

Of everyone in the group, Kaifu was the most exhausted. As a sensory ninja, he could relax the least during times like these.

He had to constantly sense where Hidden Mist Village's pursuers had reached.

At that moment, a wave of energy swept over Kaifu.

"Hidden Mist Village is chasing us again!"

The familiar sensation made Kaifu leap to his feet.

His cry drew everyone's attention.

They all looked to the Raikage, waiting for his decision.

"Leave this place first!"

After a brief moment of thought, the Raikage gave the order.

After all, they still had soldier pills. Going without proper food for the time being was no problem.

But getting blocked in by Hidden Mist Village would be troublesome.

Once the Raikage gave the order, everyone rose to their feet despite their grim expressions. They did not even have time to put out the fire.

They abandoned the half-cooked meat on the skewers and immediately started moving.

As Killer B raced along, he asked the Raikage, "Big Brother, Hidden Mist Village is biting down too hard. We can't do anything like this."

"I can't take it anymore, fool, you fool!"

Killer B was more resentful than a ghost. Aside from the brief thrill he got from bombing the Daimyo's Mansion at the start of this mission,

he had been chased around like a dog ever since.

It could not have been any more miserable.
