"Clan Head, something's happened!"
The voice from outside quickly pulled Senyo from his thoughts.
He opened his eyes and looked at Yusuke, who had come in to report. "What is it?"
"Ryūsetsu is dead, but Muku has appeared from inside the room."
Senyo nodded, as though he had expected this. "Let's go take a look."
"Yes."
Senyo quickly returned to the guest room. Before he even reached the door, he heard heart-wrenching sobs from within.
"...Why? Why were you so foolish, Ryūsetsu?!"
"What's the point of living if you're gone...?"
Senyo walked in and saw that Ryūsetsu, who had been perfectly alive just moments ago, was now a corpse.
Muku was clutching Ryūsetsu's body and weeping bitterly.
With a glance at the storage scroll beside him, Senyo knew that Ryūsetsu had brought Muku's corpse here.
Senyo reached out and snatched the crumpled letter from Muku's hand.
It was Ryūsetsu's suicide note.
After skipping over the parts about her love for Muku, the rest was simple.
Ryūsetsu had used Dragon Life Reincarnation to revive Muku and told him to live well.
Muku and Ryūsetsu had been childhood friends since they were young and were now discussing marriage.
Their feelings had already run deep, and Ryūsetsu had even used her own life to save his.
Muku felt as if his whole world had collapsed. Though he was already in his twenties, he cried like a child.
Senyo reached out, pushed Muku aside, and lifted Ryūsetsu's corpse.
Muku stared blankly at Senyo, not knowing what he intended to do. "Lord Senyo, you...?"
Senyo spoke a single sentence that stopped Muku's words cold:
"Don't stop me from saving her."
A look of delighted surprise appeared in Muku's eyes. "R-Really?"
Senyo briefly checked Ryūsetsu's vital signs.
Ryūsetsu had died after her
