He knew Black Zetsu would need some more time to arrive. Rather than looking for Disonas, he went to the lake at the edge of Hol.

A peculiar energy continuously flowed into his right hand.
After a while, Obito pulled his hand from the water and turned his gaze toward the very center of Hol.
Moryo was right. This place has been extracting the energy of the earth veins all along.
The energy contained in the lake water was the overflow.
Others might not have been able to sense it.
But Obito's right arm was White Zetsu's—in other words, a plant.
Plants were rather sensitive to nutrients and energy.

He then dragged an unconscious villager out from a nearby room.
