Obito's gaze lingered briefly on the Sasuke-faced White Zetsu.
Although awakening the Mangekyō Sharingan at sixteen was not particularly early, Sasuke had grown up in an era of peace, not war.
Moreover, the Uchiha Clan was now at the height of its power. Sasuke could not possibly have experienced much danger or hardship.
To awaken the Mangekyō Sharingan under such conditions spoke volumes of his talent.
"Shion is the successor of the Miko. You should know better than anyone how strong she is."
Obito's expression darkened. If he had not nearly lost his life when he failed to capture Shion last time, he would not have implanted eyes into his arm.
"This is Gaara..."
"This is Kimimaro..."
"This is Haku..."
Black Zetsu introduced them to Obito one by one, as if reciting treasures from memory. The more he said, the darker Obito's face became.
Ordinarily, having one or two geniuses in a faction was already impressive.
Yet on Konoha's side, every member of the younger generation was exceptional.
Within two years, they would become the backbone of Konoha.
"This one is a descendant of the Uzumaki Clan. Her name is Karin."
"Like Sasuke, she is Uchiha Senyo's disciple."
Obito raised an eyebrow. A person as powerful as Senyo ought to have disciples with something unusual about them.
But Black Zetsu's next words caught him off guard.
"She has another identity. She is Uchiha Senyo's fiancée."
"Fiancée!?" Obito's expression flickered with uncertainty.
He did not think their ages were inappropriate. In his time, the Uchiha generally married young.
He simply had not expected Senyo to take his own disciple as his wife.
"Are you sure?"
"If she is Senyo's fiancée, why let her go to the battlefield?"
Black Zetsu nodded firmly.
