The Ultimate Scapegoat

The boundless Void Sea.

Boom—

With a thunderous crash.

Something like a point of origin exploded.

Wherever the energy swept past.

The concepts of space and time were erased.

An absolute vacuum formed within this region.

Across this stretch of the Void Sea.

A massive wave seemed to surge.

Three figures stood in three different directions.

Quietly watching everything within the Void Sea.

An unknown amount of time passed.

The waves within the Void Sea subsided.

The entire region fell still.

"Nothing?"

"Great Black Heaven actually isn't here?"

Three vast consciousnesses spread outward, scanning this stretch of the Void Sea.

"From the clues we found, Great Black Heaven was indeed hiding in the Void Sea. Could she have gotten word in advance and escaped?"

One of the figures had a beast's head, a human body, and two wings on his back.

His pale golden eyes radiated intense killing intent and resentment.

"Great Black Heaven stole my greatest treasure and cut off my path forward all those years ago. I thought I could finally take my revenge today, but she still managed to escape!"

Another figure was a woman.

She had long, water-blue hair, and layers upon layers of ripples seemed to shimmer around her.

Her delicate brows furrowed slightly. "Great Black Heaven controls causality. Now that she's escaped, finding her again will be difficult..."

"Who exactly leaked the news to her?"

The third figure was shrouded in a golden curtain of light, obscuring their features.

"Great Black Heaven has a terrible reputation throughout the myriad realms. She's offended everyone she could afford to offend, and everyone she couldn't. Who would tip her off?"

"This time, she must have used causality to detect our presence and fled in advance."

The figure within the golden light spoke with the strongest killing intent.
